No doubt Pouliot is terrible . Edler is a guy that will pick up one PPP in every 50 tries.
- VANTEL

But he already has more than 1 in much less than 50... it’s ok, don’t let a silly thing like facts get in the way of your Edler hate. This team is SO much better with him out, especially the power play

Seems like a contradiction...if we had Quinn over Pouliot, Hutton or Edler sounds exactly like a personnel or player...and the structure is only as good as the talent.

What works for one team doesn't mean it will work for every team...if it does why isn't there success on the PP.

- Makita

There is no contradiction. The drop pass zone entry is utilized by over half the league. The 4 forward 1 defenseman the same. Our PP was 9th best in the league last year using the same format, so im not sure why people think its not working. The difference between 9th overall on the PP last year and 19th this year IS player change imo. They are not even close to being the same as last year. Yes enter pettersson, and yes boeser has been absent, but the players have changed, not the structure.

The difference is the Sedins. No matter what anyone thinks, you can’t just slit anyone into their shoes and expect production

Absolutely. Maybe its just me, but i havent seen anything different to their zone entries or PP setup dating back to last year. Last years PP percentage doesnt lie about its success.

Well obviously if it worked last year then it must work again this year,...I guess we just wait until the only players that can use that one structure are healthy again, no need to adjust anything to the incompetent players that can't execute the structure. The team has awesome personnel coaching, it's all the players fault for not being good enough, no adjustments required....got it, I now understand completely...thanks..

Lol easy makita. Difference of opinion clearly. I have been an anti pom pom waver forever now, and finger pointing at coaching and structure over players just isnt my forte. Are coaches and structure exempt from critisism? Hell no. I never said a coach shouldnt adjust their structure in relation to player skill. Should boeser and pettersson double shift the top circles on both PPs? Why not. Im simply countering with an objective opinion based off of recent success and league wide success based on the same/similar zone entries and structure.

Oh I'm easy my friend, this is strictly a debate over the entire situation. My whole point was and still is...this team (as structured today) lacks the talent and capabilities to execute a structure that is designed for other more "skilled players" and it's the coaches (personnel) responsibility to make adjustments to the skill talent on the team.

That's what my comments were about, and I haven't seen any adjustments at all with regards to zone entry.

Not everything has to be viewed as a personal attack, it's all a healthy debate with a heavy dose of sarcasm thrown in.
