You're so full of sh!t, Boner. You were watching on Sunday night and had the straight razor sitting next to one of your stupid craft beers, and J.K. Rowling's novels on the coffee table. Only question is does hiring Hitchcock get you to put the razor back in its case? - leonkennedy
I 100% guarantee I wasn't watching. I was at work stocking 4 pallets worth of booze from a long-delayed order Pressing pretty hard to push your millennial interpretation of me, aren't you? I thought you would know better by now that I'm a whiskey and Tolkien kind of guy |

Well Hitch came out of retirement to coach so now Lucic can come out of retirement to play....I’m curious to see how he will handle Lucic moving forward |

I'm most interested in Draisaitl and Nurse.
Draisaitl is a type of player that is among the league's best players when he has a fire lit underneath him. While he isn't lazy, he has stretches where he isn't "going". Hitchcock might be able to provide that sort of fire. Nurse, on the other hand, is in need of a wholesale shift in how he defends. If anyone can give him that it's a guy like Hitch.
Caggiula will be an interesting case: will he use the opportunity here to learn how to defend and consistently give maximum effort or will his lack of results relative to opportunity malign him in Hitch's eyes?
Lastly, I hope Hitchcock gives Manny full control of the PP like he should have. Maybe give Larsson a shot while he's at it. |

I think it’s obvious to state that he is here for the short term....on top of what you said I’m curious to see how McDavid responds to a change in philosophy because Hitch and Todd have totally different styles to the game....is Hitch also there to maybe work with Manny as he did with Yeo in St.Louis?.....interesting times ahead for this team

Fold the damn franchise.
4 #1 picks in 6 years. And absolutely NOTHING has changed.
Christ, And I thought we had incompetent Morons running the Canucks.

Well look at who Benning worked with before he went to Vancouver ......look this team hasn’t had anyone decent in the GM position for what like 20 years now? All the bad contracts and drafting and trades and coaching choices and the team in its current form reflects it

I don't think we watched the same game. The Oilers completely dominated the game, both physically and statistically. They then, for whatever reason, just stopped playing. Almost like they were over-confident or something, or they simply stopped paying attention to detail.
The Oilers certainly did not "roll over" because the game got nasty...they drove the aggression in that game and then when the aggression died down, they stopped playing and Calgary came back and won. When Calgary tried to beat EDM with skill in the first 2 periods, CGY had trouble doing so. Calgary also does not have the right personnel to compete with EDM in a "nasty game". Calgary kept their focus and EDM did not.
I don't think either team has a consdierably better lineup than the other. Calgary's defense is a lot better, but Edmonton's forward group is quite a bit better.
I think your message is really meant to be passive aggressive, and not necessarily based on anything but to stir things up. I do agree that a team coached by Hitchcock is very unlikely to stop paying attention to detail in the 3rd frame...that's for sure.
I like the move to hire Hitch...this team needs it. - JLO961
Edmonton’s forward group is quite a bit better than Calgary’s?!?!

Didn't Vancouver enter the league before the Oilers? How many cups has each won so far? |
