My guess Berube gets a month and after a month if nothing has improved they hire Q

is the issue roster composition or are the players simply not on the same page?

Q will take the job in the new year... he wants time with his family.

Hitch ending up in Edmonton shouldn't be that big of a surprise. I have always said he will have trouble retiring because he is so driven. A chance to coach one of the best players in the world near his home town isn't a tough sell for Hitch imho.

I like bringing Larry Robinson on staff to help in the interim.

Small part is composition but the bigger problem is the sure number of turnover, the injuries, and some new asst coaches....makes it hard for the players to be on the same page. Just my humble opinion.

Jammer how long does Berube have until DA has to make a chemistry move?

Maroon has not worked out at all and I cant see him getting a new contract at this point.

Thoughts?

Maroon was playing very good hockey earlier in the year (remember the hit on Seabrook that caused a goal, great power play net front presence, etc). I wouldn't write his season off just yet.

As to making a move, it woudln't surprise me if he made a trade right away as a sign to the players that this was on them. Of course, he won't make one unless he is ok with it from a hockey standpoint.

They better get it going fast (before Christmas needs to see a big spike in point %) otherwise they might as well #tankforhughes. Remember the trade that sent the 2019 pick away is draft protected.

The problem is he has no one he is willing to trade that other teams want,

Would you move a Schenn or Pietro?

I know Guru would move Pietro

You'd be surprised what teams will do. It could be a more of a change of scenery trade. My struggling player for your struggling player for example. Otherwise it is a hockey trade like the Erik Johnson trade.

IMO the Hawks won't stand in Q's way if he wants to coach another team, even if it is in the division.

I don't think the owner, Rocky Wirtz, is anywhere near as vindictive and petty as his old man "Dollar" Bill Wirtz was.

Agreed.

If Q wants to coach the Blues and the Blues want Q, I have a hard time believing that Chicago is going to stop it from happening.

Part of the Blues problem from what I've seen has to do with (on defense) new line mates from game to game and rotating within the game. They have no chemistry and no idea where each other are or how they play. Pietrangelo has Jbow for most of the time which drags him down and off his game then has Gunnar, Eddy, and Dunn. Has no time to find consistency. Injuries have plagued this team from the start of the season.

Not sure if it's all on Yeo, but something needed to change. Lots of new/young players. Hopefully they can get things together.

Not looking forward to the next 3 games.

Last nights game didn't look too bad. Just no puck luck and ran into a hot goalie. Sure the Blues were shooting into the crest a lot but they also had great chances that were stopped by great saves.

Pietrangelo's ill times pinch led to the goal.

I want them to bring Kyrou back up.

The Blues need his speed. Perfect time for it IMO. Let the vets know that if they don't step it up, the kids will play in their spot.

I meant from Hitch's side. Close to home, gets to coach McDavid, etc
