DAMN!! Dermott blew all the rivets on the bottom of that skate! Nice block and way to get to the bench!

Not a chance that MM is $4.2m better a player than Nylander. He's more likable and more flashy, but they're much closer in ability than most seem to realise...

I bet Marner signs for a bit less, probably 9-10, but he will get a lot more than Nylander because he'll have a ppg or greater season under his belt while Nylander will only have one shortened rookies season and 2 61 point seasons to negotiate with.

Marner is a lot better.
4.2 m better? nah probably not. I was simply tossing #'s
Fine 9.5 for mm.

Nylander has a better shot. He is better at leaving the D zone with possession and entering the o zone with possession. He's got a better 5v5 point production but Marner has the edge 5v4. They're more similar than most think because Marner's style leaves him more noticeable.

I bet Max thinks that it was Gardiner's fault that Z ripped the puck into his arse on the boards, before almost deflecting it past Freddie...

marner's last 60 or so games have put him in a tier above nylander, there's no doubt about that. nylander has never had a stretch of games where he has played with anywhere near that level of consistency.

How much would you pay MM and WN?

Personally, I think Marner is clearly the superior player. Not only is he offensively as gifted but he’s defensively on another level in comparison and can kill penalties.

Maybe he’s not 4.2M better but he’s at least 2M more... no?

Coming from the guy who suggested putting a team in Mexico City that's really (frank)ing funny

Oh, I think so too - but the difference is definitely not $4.2m. Maybe a couple at most. And that's not to put down Marner, but rather to highlight that people forget just how good Nylander actually is.

This. Marner was playing at ppg levels since like, the second half of last season, I think?

simply not true - just compare 5v5 points/60mins and you'll see marner produces more points 5v5 than nylander.
the other three points i would disagree with as well.

9 and 7-7.5 respectively. Especially as a couple of deep playoff runs for TO will raise HRR enough to offset that poop
