I agree with Matt that the games wasn't a total beat down, the Pens had multiple chances (Jake, Phil) to put the game away and they didn't. Their goalie made some great saves.

What I think has been said about this team is true. They are fragile. I hate the term but it seems accurate. Once things start getting close they start losing their cool and running around like the barns on fire.

I still think Sheary snuck into the Pens room and taped their blades before OT. What a clown show.

If you're going to restock, you're wasting some of the last great years of Crosby and Malkin.

I don't have the solution, but if they want to keep winning around Crosby and Malkin, they can't wait 3-4 years.

The Pens are in no-mans land really.
Can't afford to give up futures for current/rentals.

Cant tear it down because they have 2 of the best players the game has seen and should be competitive.

I agree. It's like you said, it's the result of going all-in for years. I think that the GM may have sunk this team's present. He's gonna have to pull a few rabbits out of his hat to fix it.

I think Pearson was a lil baby rabbit...hopefully he can swing more like that...

Sneaky Sheary.

Where do you think the Pens would be in the standings if they still had him?

Id say tied for 12th in the conference. 3 points back of 3rd in division haha.

And lets not forget, 12th in the conference is a great place to be in February

I agree, it was a solid move that will move the needle a bit.

He looked pretty great last night. Not just on the goal. He was holding onto the puck and making plays. He had a couple good chances. I hope he can play more of the style the other 14 brought when he was younger.

I don't think the Pens should be making moves for the sake of making moves, personally. Not that I don't think they should stand pat, but I think that moves like the Reaves acquisition, the JMFJ signing, and the Sheary trade have put them into a spin they may not be able to pull out of. I think that any trade they make will close one hole to open another one.

I think the Pearson move is gonna work out it looks like he can create his own shots as well and not rely on Geno to set him up

Definitely, you can just tell by watching him that he has the skills to create and he goes to the net. I think it was an excellent move.

I mean he went to the net to score, he doesn't have to be kunitz. If we get last night out of him for most games it's looking good. He can work anywhere in the top 9

I think it was a good move as well, but I don't think it will have a drastic impact on the team. It's a step in the right direction, as well.

Oh yeah it's not the answer,(there's not one move that's gonna fix things) but it's a piece of the puzzle. I know it's asking a lot but if they can do something similar with Maatta/Sheahan I think we are getting somewhere. Then Sid comes back and we get Schultz back around the deadline.(Hopefully we're in the playoffs at that time)
