This game could have gone either way. The refs lost this game for both sides. Let way too much go. - ImThatGuy
Up 4-1 (at home) is far from a 50/50 coin toss. Just saying :/ |

The game wasn’t horrible. They had a ton of chances to put it away and didn’t. Jake coulda had a hatty tonight. Defensive zone is still the huge problem. 2 awful clears that resulted in goals almost instantly.
I’d actually like the team to just once try and play back with a lead and counter. I’m not sure they can. - Thorny87
Said the same thing yesterday. Both blue lines are a house of horrors for us. D zone coverage is a total clusterfuk. |

I think the way the Caps played us last year would be good for this team. We have the fire power to make teams pay on the counter and the PP. |

Have to wonder if Sully's shelf life has expired. Is it too early to question whether he's lost the team?
Did the Pens slide start before or after coach Q was sh!t-canned?
And no faith in GMJR. Botterhill was clearly the smarts of the operation |

Not going to happen. Rutherford would never fire Sullivan. |

Pens are on their 4th coach in the Crosby era...They are like 2-8 in their last 10, last place and just blew a 4-1 lead at home....Changing the coach is a lot easier than trying to find a better top 4 Dman, top 6 F and C upgrade. Coaches are expendable. |

MM will be in Wednesday - Thorny87
I’d keep DeSmith in net and see how he responds to this loss. They’ve already given Murray an abundance of chances. He’s lost his net and it’s time to give DeSmith a few starts in a row to see how he can handle it |

They just gave Rutherford a 3 year deal and he's not going to fire his coach this soon after winning b2b cups. |

You didn’t have Crosby. It makes a huge difference. Get him healthy, this team is so much better. |

I'm sure Ryan is very disappointed with this loss. I'm sure he already had his article written about the great results because Cullen is in the press box. - jrmjames67

they have to stop the bleeding. if they rack-up another loss on Wednesday, JR will have no choice but to show Sully the door. JR is being forced by their abysmal points conversion. There should be sense of urgency to right the ship before it sinks the season. Messrs Lemieux and Burkle will not tolerate otherwise. |

Honestly, I believe depth and shoddy defense along with bad goaltending is what is keeping you down. The Sabres fans know these symptoms all too well. It's a simple observation, and probably fixable over an offseason or two, as long as JR is still committed to the core. The Sabres defense is still very lackluster, but the other issues appear to be virtually solved |

im just sad that we now have to waste assets on acquiring a goalie |

He will definitely have a choice and his choice will be to keep Sullivan and try to fix how the team is constructed. JR would seem pretty cowardly after he butchered the bottom half of the team only to lay the blame on the coach. |

Maybe the Pens should play better defense and stop allowing such high amounts of high danger chances? |

I wonder if the nhl coach is giving the nhl rookie some sheltered minutes because he is a rookie. Coach Ryan Wilson is probably right though. Sounds like when everything goes right Pens still can’t get it done. Didn’t get to watch the game. |

Guys I really dont think anyone in the Metro is looking like a beast team yet. The 2 wild card spots are occupied by 2 Atlantic teams that have the same or more points than any team in the Metro.
I take a lot of positives from last night, I really do. This team will (re)learn to play with the lead. Couple of those goals against were crazy bounces. The God's are not smiling down upon the Pens a lot of nights the past few weeks.
3rd week in November and they're 5 points out of 3rd in division with a game in hand.
Am I the only one finding this adversity interesting and exciting?! The games are much more meaningful than usual in November. There's been a move made and we feel we're on the cusp of more moves. Uncertainties. Interesting.
Go Pens.
I believe. |

Were there bright spots from last night's game? Sure, but not enough for me to remain optimistic. But yes, the Metro is pretty weak right now and the Pens have some games at hand.
I know I'm sounding like the sky is falling, but it's time for more than just a few personnel changes. Sully has lost this team.
IMO it's time to move out one or two more key players and bring in Q. |
