Ok I'm not up on things, if we pay Skinner big bucks, how does that affect our future cap situation with Reinhart, Middlestat and others?

Hopefully apples to apples, but that's what they said about VGK last year.

Keep in mind this was not only done before the season began, but is simply guesswork. Cap projections are fluid week to week. But it gives you a very general idea of one possible outcome when Dahlin, Mittelstadt and Reinhart are due.

- Buffalo--Sabres

All things considering:

Reinhart is on his usual 50 point pace, he will get around $5.5-$6 million unless he lights it up

For Casey remember this is year 2 of his deal since they burned a year already. His point production is coming along so say next year he finishes around 60 points he is going to get a 3 year bridge deal to keep his RFA status. Say 3 years at $5 million a year.

Skinner signs at $8.5 million per year.

Dahlin keeps improving and signs an 8 years deal at $10 million per.

Moulson is off the books
Pommer is off the books
Bogo is off the books
Scandella is off the books
Berglund and Sobotka come off the books

Basically they can afford to sign Skinner.

Couple that with the cap going up with Seattle entering the league and most likely getting another 2 compliance buyouts (Okposo if he stumbles)

They can afford to extend Skinner, keep Reinhart if they want, keep Risto if they want, re-sign McCabe, Dahlin and Casey.

So the new challenge becomes finding value players to fill out the roster so they don't become Chicago. Without the three cups of course.

I'll take making it to the finals....

I think we are better positioned to be a consistent contender than VGK if we get Skinny signed soon.

Dahlin and Jack will be the two highest paid players on the team at $10 million each

Skinner is next at $8.5

They still have some good players on value like deals like Casey, Sam, Risto (in a 2nd pair role at this point), McCabe fills the Scandella role and probably earns less than Scandella does now, Pilut is probably a Sabre at $4 million per at this point.

ERod at $2 million Sheary at $4 million.

But yes they need Nylander, Olloffson, Asplund, and good drafting to keep working out in their favor.

I said I wouldn't be surprised if Vegas doesn't make the playoffs this year at the start of the season.

Buffalo would be much better positioned. They have 2 real franchise players in Jack and Dahlin.

Hearing the Bruins will be without top line center and 4x Selke Trophy winner Patrice Bergeron for “an extended period of time”... w/ upper body injury.

The latest, and most significant, on a list of injuries for the B’s.

They already have an injured Chara and McAvoy...now Bergeron man that is tough

Three first round picks and all the talent already in Rochester and the system, I think we might be okay....

I mean I don't like to root for injuries.

But if anything this gives the Sabres a month to build more space between them

I can't get over the fact that Botts has put a team like this on the ice AND somehow has three 1st round picks next draft. Unreal.

My hatred of the Bruins has died in the past 5 years mostly because the Sabres have been bad

I hated Boston with Lucic, Chara and the Rat.

Now I just dislike them because of the Rat.

Anyone have a clip of the a clip of the Scandella injury and subsequent intentional/slightly not on purpose stick to Malkin's head? Can't find it anywhere.

Nothing really changed in the arena that much, except paying $12.50 for a Beer or $5.00 for a bottle of Coke. But somehow when you are winning games you really don't care about dropping 30 bucks for 2 beers and a pop...

i definitely enjoyed spending $12 or whatever it was for a cold slice of pizza and the flattest fountain drink you could imagine

I don't root for injuries either, but no part of me will ever feel sorry for the Bruins. Hearing they have an injury problem is fantastic, about time it's somebody other than us...

I'm noticing significant empty seats in the arena. I must admit even with them playing well I'm not motivated to do anything but watch them on tv. If someone gave me tickets I'd gladly blow a hundred bucks down at the arena but that ain't happening.
