Do you think the stick to Malkins head was on purpose? I thought it was incidental, my husband thinks he did it intentionally.

I think in the heat of the moment, he gave into an impulse to dish out some hammurabic eye for an eye kinda punishment. Pain will do that to a guy. I think he regrets it in hindsight.

I watch probably 10-15 games of Edmonton a year so I get the point you’re trying to make. But if you go on YouTube and search up McDavid highlights you’ll see everything you need to see. He’s the fastest player to ever lace up skates and has the IQ and hands to keep up with it. Eichel is finally getting the goal support. If McDavid didn’t have to do everything himself like Eichel has had to the last few years could you imagine how much more points he’d have ?
- Pegullaville

McDavid is without a doubt a generational talent. Offensively unmatched. Leadership, toughness, defense, faceoffs... Eichel is better, and I'd give up 20-30 points production to have what he brings to the team.

You are right it’s not. McDavid is better.

I love Eichel. He’s the Sabres best player.

Eichel is more physical. That’s about it.

McDavid is the superior player, it’s not close. And that’s ok.

- ImThatGuy

If they weren’t drafted in the same year nobody would even consider it.

I love eichel, but McDavid is just incredble
- Boss34

McDavid, Eichel, and Matthews will run the league for the next 10-15 years. But McDavid is in a tier of his own. I think Eichel and Matthews are dead even though although some will disagree with that.

Don’t get me wrong, I love Jack. But if I was told I could have McDavid I wouldn’t think twice about it.

THat’s not to say that Jack isn’t better at some of those things joevthree listed, but I still think it’s not even up for debate that at least 99% of hockey fans would take McDavid over Eichel. That’s not me being a downer about Eichel, it’s just the truth.

ROR wanted the “C” and divided the room. Lehner was a head case. ROR’s negative attitude rubbed off on the team after losses and his press conference at the end of the year was the icing on the cake. He is a talented player but it’s evident we are better without him and his cap hit
- Pegullaville

I agree. RoR is very talented but he’s just got the worst attitude. He always wanted to be the guy but he can’t be.

Lehner had his own issues but rumors were plentiful about how Lehner acted in the room and on the ice. Really can’t fault him for them, mental illness can’t be helped and I hope he can recover from it and be ok

I agree with all of the above. Watching McDavid again last night just reminds me of how much better he is than anyone else in the league. If McDavid wasn't on Edmonton, the Oilers would be Sabres bad during the McEichel tank year.

BTW - Botts with the UFA signing of the year - Carter Hutton. What a stud he has been. Going into overtime and penalty shots, i actually think we have better than a 50/50 chance. The last few years - 0% chance to win.

Fair enough. I respect your opinion. I think Eichel will be a top 5 Centre in the league for the duration of his career. I put him in the same tier as Mackinnon, Matthews, Barkov, Scheiffle.

Is anyone ready to admit there may have been a culture problem, and one or more of the players we sent out were to blame?
- Shadman306

Why wouldn’t you just say that the talent across the roster is twice what it was instead of trying to convict people who aren’t here anymore?

Those 1% should be fired. Again not a knock on jack but McDavid is just superior to everyone.

McDavid has had to deal with what Eichel has with surrounding talent but worse.

Chia turned

In to

And signed lucic to protect him and play in his wing.

I think our confidence is directly related to ullmark and Hutton being solid.

Years passed we couldn’t come back because when we opened it up to push the very first decent scoring chance went in the back of our net

No disrespect to Crosby but McDavid is going to blow by him when it’s all said and done. He’s the closest thing to Gretzky.

Injury costed him Calder and Chirelli costed him his 3rd Heart trophy in 3 years.

I guess I'm just trying to pretend.

There isn't as big of a gap in regards to passing

Congrats on one hell of comeback. Very impressive. They didn't give up at all and battled. They showed a lot of guts and easily could have just called it a night after down by 3. They deserved the W tonight.
