Think about Toews and Kane winning a Cup for Chicago, signing $10.5m per season deals and turning 28. You know what happened next. Now they are both 30 years of age and the Hawks are struggling.

No way they flip a legit #1 center to Vancouver, especially for a guy they already traded away in Jonathan Dahlen.

Jonathan who?

How many points did he got in NHL thus far? His 11 pts in 17 games in AHL are far from outstanding as well.He cant even crack vancouver roster and you want to sell him like a future superstar? My take is that he become a 3rd liner at best.

I think Stone will get paid and the team really has no bargaining chips to get a deal. He's been the good guy the whole time and should be paid as as cornerstone of this team

Duchene I think is in the exact same situation. However, given the video that came out, I bet the team will use that to try to get a bit of a discount.

At the end of the say I think they should both be offered the same long term deals.

Fun game (althought I only caught the third)

Sens had their chances to tie, but they're a young team that's going to make mistakes.

Duchene looks amazing out there. He just keeps creating chances. This game could have been tied had some of those chances that he'd set up gone in. Reminiscent of Spezza at his peak here.

And oh, Batherson does it again.

Wicked game.

Just keep scoring. Offence is the hardest result to achieve. They can learn to play a better D down the road.

Just great fun watching them play. I wanted to watch the Rams and Chiefs but could not switch over as they kept coming back.

Yes, all the kids had highlight moments. Batherson with set up and a goal. Tkahuck had a goal. Jaros made a brilliant pass to Duchene for the opening foal, Chabot looks more and more like a dominant Dman.

interesting, you had the exact opposite thoughts about Leafs when they were in a similar situation.

Wonder why that is

Similar but different.

Leaf fans thought they could win by simply scoring more.

I don't believe the Sens can win in the larger competitive sense until they get better on the defensive end. But, for now, we are just happy with the fun watching the young guys grow their games.

5 rookies plus Chabot in lineup last night. Just a joy to watch.

I regret getting rid of Hoffman so much.

Having him Duchene and Stone could be amazing.

The more and more stuff comes out, the less it looks like Hoffman did anything to deserve being traded.
Plus is talent level is amazing. I've said before but I think he could be a 40 goal scorer when paired with the right center
