It's just ridiculous to think Carter is worth that at this point. - opeth_pa
I would be quite angry if they traded Konecny, a prospect and a draft pick for Carter |

G lays a big hit but, a bit late hit goes to box
Buff up 1-0.
Not good strategy when 1-3 pks result in a goal for other team. - Konalover
The key is timing it right. Come on you all expect the worst anymore. It can be done and done right. |

I agree I'd even take a well timed fight...first of the year.
I harken to the days when the Blues beat the sh!t out of us and our Owner vowed never to be walked on ever again. So much for that philosophy in a galaxy far far away.

I want it at puck drop, first shift. That will help with the slow starts. G needs to do what he did that playoff game tell. Hak I want the first shift tonight and go out and set a tone. If he saw the response after the hitting started Saturday it makes sense to lead the team to do that at the start next game. |

Tomato
Tomaatoe.
It's still insane that we have dropped 7% points on the PK v last year already
and yet nothing has changed,
continuing that all is good. - Konalover
No it's not tomato, tomatoe. It's not even close to that. The things that really need to change are not going to automatically change with a new coach.

This idea is the equivalency of fans yelling "hit somebody" or "shoot" on the PP.

He'll be 34 in just over a month. A trade like that would never go down. Probably not with a trigger happy GM and def not with Hextall.
At most Carter would get someone like Laughton, not TK. And it wouldn't be from us. It'd be from a team in all around good shape gearing up for along playoff run. |

He would easily fetch a player like TK |

Possibly not, but when the same coach is in place for a PK that finishes near the bottom for 4 straight seasons, the coach is where you have to start. |

Any GM that moves TK + for Carter should be fired on the spot.

At 34 I honestly doubt it.
Think about it. If your team is geared up to win now that you would even consider trading for Carter then why would you trade away a piece of that team as big as TK? |

I'm not at all against that idea. I just know that's not the miracle core. Above all, I'm interested in real change. Real change happens on the ice. In order for real change to happen, players are going to have to correct the mistakes made and execute the same plays that will be part of any PK system installed. As well as overcome the mental hurdles. That's one are where I think a new voice can help. |

If you're one player away and that could give you a legitimate chance at a Cup, I think most GM's would make a deal like that. |

The PK has changed systems and personnel under Lappy. Still time for him to go though. - Doctor DOOM
Hexy won't fire Lappy because Hexy knows he did not get the PK guy he wanted in the off season. The team does not have guys that willingly and adequately fill that role...Can't make chicken salad with chicken poop...hexy knows it and unless Hexy feels his job is in jeopardy I don't think he hangs this only on Lappy, not this year anyway...if the team does not commit to PK (and foregoes work in other areas that really need it) with the players they have it will still stink |

lots to fix on PK, my #1 is the D coverage, seems they zig when they should zag on the regular, that is not coaching that is reading the play, though they need to changed the coach for a fresh start. I know it is the forwards also but I am more disappointed with the D this season so far. |

Hextall's a better man than me. He is. Because I'd have fired and traded my way to a PK that isn't the abomination that it is
I sit there sometimes and watch it, and then I watch other teams-- not even the best teams on the kill, even just average ones -- and you just wonder HTF nobody's gotten fired or traded to address this - AllInForFlyers
Can you trade away garbage nobody wants? Lehtera was a throw in or a throw away. |

Agreed. Was Carter for Voracek and a first round pick a ridiculous trade? Voracek was way more established an NHLer at the time than Konecny is now. |

TK + prospect + pick is the deal that was discussed.
Maybe if you are exactly 1 player away that deal makes sense as you mentioned but even then I dunno..
Just not a fan of giving up that much for a 34 year old player. |
