It may not be cowardly but it is baffling at this point. He is in a results oriented position and business and the results suggest that changes should have been made a while ago with regard to the PK staff. What I do know is that Hextall has no excuses for not making a change at PK...it’s hurting the chances of a win almost every single game. - Sublime55
Cowardly is what I objected to. That makes zero sense and is off the deep end.

I have seen a difference in the PK recently. Yes they gave up goals saturday. but there has been a difference. We will see how much it works or not. |

Yeah, most likely not. But I'd rather go after him than Carter.
Ultimately I don't think we should really be trading for anyone over the age of 30 save for maybe a goaltender. - hereticpride
Agree. we do not need an aging asset we need a young acorn to grow big n strong.

Like ease of entry,
cross ice passes galore and
multiple shots from the slot and
nobody being cleared?

The PK has changed systems and personnel under Lappy. Still time for him to go though. |

No chance in hell would I give that up for a 33 yr old Jeff Carter. - ajw12
I would add Carter if we aren’t losing anything of real concern but right now, I think we are fine without him. |

Simmonds need to start the game Wednesday by knocking the piss out of someone.
Do we think AMAC stays in the lineup?
for that matter Provy needs to level someone...
UGH
I watched Saturday's game with my 10 year old, for what it is worth he said he loved the game, that he wasn't angry they lost. I guess it was entertaining. But I told him after you have been watching the Flyers for 40 plus years, entertainment is not the only thing you are looking for... |

G needs to be the first one to level someone. It's got to be the captain. I'm tired of the G does things and the team doesn't follow suit. After G then the next shift should be Simmer and Weise. BOOM BOOM BOOM Sabres bodies hitting the ice. Then if the rest don't respond we got a problem. |

A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away....
I think G's hit on Crosby was the only time he's leveled anybody.

I ruined my niece when she was 10 in the Lindros years! She still hates me for getting her hook on the Flyers.
She's a Dodger fan too, poor thing.

That's not the system. That's the lack of execution of the system.

If we’re trading for Jeff Carter, you still have to give up a pretty big chunk. Jeff Carter is still a name, at a decent age and capable of producing. My assumption would be Konecny, a prospect and a draft pick. Or maybe a high draft pick and a young roster player. - SuperSchennBros
It's just ridiculous to think Carter is worth that at this point. |

Everyone says this team follows G's lead so He should be the first one to throw a good hit. It doesn't need to be as good as the Crosby one but good enough that starts to send a message to the Sabres this could be a long night. |

That Era of the Flyers is long gone. Partially because the league calls anything a penalty now but also it's just not what the roster has in them. I sure as Hell don't want G, who is on pace for 90 points again throwing hits and risk breaking a bone or something.
Simmonds on the other hand should come out like he just got stung by a warrior wasp, shout out to Coyote Peterson if anyone watches his clips... |

Tomaatoe.
It's still insane that we have dropped 7% points on the PK v last year already
and yet nothing has changed,
continuing that all is good.

G lays a big hit but, a bit late hit goes to box
Buff up 1-0.
Not good strategy when 1-3 pks result in a goal for other team.

Konecny looks to have the skill to be a consistent 25-35 goal scorer every year. Carter and TK may be around the same value now, but it seems Konecny will quickly surpass him. No way would I do a deal like that. |
