Considering our roster makeup, I think we're best suited to another "player's coach" along the lines of Kruger or Nelson. Guys who can get their players to buy-in but leave enough space to be creative. Young teams (like ours SHOULD be) seem to excel under leadership that has their back and gives them leeway to be creative.

It’s clear and has been for some time that creativity is not encouraged within the organization.

Instead TMac sticks with the same played tactics that can be telegraphed a mile away. TMac thinks he’s brilliant pairing Looch with McD and Drai after some rough hockey. Suddenly the line becomes a “dump and chase” disaster and our two most potent offensive threats are shackled.

Why is it that most every other team can create beautiful highlight reel goals without the Best Player in the game.

Why have the Oilers not had that young player that comes out of nowhere and takes off unexpectly. Those kinds of stories never come from this franchise.

Todd must go. He is an anchor. The optics do not show otherwise.

Agreed. I often wonder what this team could look like with a Head Coach that showed even the slightest semblance of emotion. Maybe not Tortorella levels of insanity but someone that isn’t so meek and passive.

This team just looks like it’s going through the motions looking for some kind of hope.

Maybe marginally better, but certainly not good enough to “expect” wins against quality teams. If that roster doesn’t scream mediocre at ya, u probably haven’t seen many other teams play.

That was pretty painful to watch. Props to Todd for realizing to not go down in history as a poopty playoff coach - all you gotta do is not make the playoffs.
He's also the first coach to figure out how to effectively shut down McDavid.. Oh...

Though I did hear Spooner's name announced a couple times, which is as much as I heard Strome's name mentioned all year... so.... there's that?

Oilers are going through a rough stretch but it looks like they're still in a good spot to make the playoffs. There's no reason tho think they won't end up higher than Van, Ana and LA in the end.

Did anyone else feel like McDavid was coasting this game? It seemed like the rough stuff put him off and then all of a sudden Lucic got stapled to his line.

Your front office boys club would rather get other teams castoffs like Rattie,spooner and whoever else. Guys on other teams who had potential but never lived up to it. So let’s try them on edm!!
