Gonna be tough tonight with the back to back. And the Wild are good at home this year (6-1-2) and are 7-3 in their last 10. It won't be easy. If we could get the game to OT and steal a point, all the better.

I’m hoping for a point as well. But after getting points we didn’t really deserve the past few games I’m ready for the team to get blown out tonight.

I know you hated it.

You also said Fasching had 20 goal potential, and he + a 2nd should get one of the Ducks D men when we were rumored to be interested in one

Let’s just be 100% honest, you knew nothing of Tage Thompson before the trade. You just hated the trade. We all get it

I looked him up
He wasn’t/isn’t fast
Barely scored last year

I hope I’m wrong about him & he works out
He’s still young
So it’s certainly possible

My issue is that we wanted to become faster, and NONE of those guys are fast
Plus, them not scoring makes it worse

The Blues are tied for 3rd last, we got that 1st. Even if the push it, were getting a decent prospect of our choosing.

Sobotka has played fine and Thompson is young as you said. I thought his 2nd half of last game was solid after a rough start. Maybe he improves, in a way this is still his rookie season as he only played 40g last year.

I can understand not being overly impressed but given it all we did get some decent parts in the trade and that depth has helped us I think.

IMO Berglund needs to step it up production wise, we need him to be on pace for something like 15/20/35.
Sobotka is alright, although a couple more pts would bd welcomed.

Tage is 21 and had 40 games last season to adjust to the NHL game...he looks out-of-place out there and should be sent down to properly develop with as much ice time as he can play...why they keep him up here is mind-boggling. His whole game needs attention, at 6'5" trying to play a perimeter game is a friggin sin...learn the power forward game well...forecheck, backcheck, paycheck.

Buffalo will receive a first-round pick in 2019 if the Blues first-round pick is outside of the top ten selections. If the Blues' pick is inside the top ten the first-round pick will defer to 2020.

the locker room is a much better place w/o ror and lehner FWIW

lehner blamed everyone but himself

jack and ror could never get on the same page and had the locker room divided

Not arguing Tage has been good, just that he has some intangibles and has time to improve.

Berglund agree. I think Sobotka has done his job.

That first could be solid.

RoR is playing well. As I said before I think both teams did well.

O’Reilly didn’t want to be here after year 2.

His comments were a clear trade request, and just plain dumb, which hurt his value.

Just wait until Robert Thomas starts getting most of the attention in St. Louis

I think we’ll get their pick this year. They have played 3 games less then everyone else. They’ll improve but not enough to claim a playoff spot imo with how touch the central is.

Jfitz - you called it. Don't let them hate on you.

Thompson could still be a productive nhl player. He's 20 years old. Plenty of time to be WRONG

So far jbotts has hit on all the trades.

Foligno and ennis for 6 and 29
Sheary for draft picks
Skinner for picks and pu
Bowl u for a 3rd is looking better

The ror trade:
Upgraded nolan to sobatka
Upgraded cristo to berglund
Upgraded our 17th forward from nhl has been to nhl prospect

And 2 picks to use at the deadline

Thomas hasn't done much this year. If we had gotten him, the trolls here would complain about him too.

I get people being unhappy with the 1st rounder being the key piece coming back, but it does fit the time frame for this team contending.

Ror came with some baggage.
He is putting up crazy points now
He was making alot of money and could only be traded for equal $ in today's nhl.

That's how you get bergland. He was a throw in

Fwiw I just doubt Thomas was on the table. He was their Mittelstadt.

Three 1sts also gives us flexibility. If we overachieve as we are doing, come the deadline you can lose one and not kill the system.

I thought they had the choice? If it was bottom 10 they could choose to defer it???

Either way I expect they'll improve.

I wouldnt be surprised to see us use both the ror picks.
1st and 2nd round.

Get a guy or 2 like ek9.

Except someone who is a good teammate, not in trouble off the ice, could score consistently and stay healthy.

Basically a potential 30 goal ufa -

It does, but I think JB has the patience and discipline to use that pick wisely, and not squander it at the deadline. I don't see him renting....at least not at that cost.

I’d keep all 3. This is a really good draft. And even if we only hit on 2/3 that’s two players on entry level deals performing above their salary on our team when we are tight against the cap once Mitts and Dahlin get their extensions.

Jbotts could be looking at the ek9 1st as a punt.
Last year we punted - this year were receiving

Especially with skinner's ufa status.

Go for it!

Thompson is 6’5” and hasn’t filled out yet. Could take a couple more years. He was drafted in 2016 and a bust? So everyone that isn’t a Top 6 forward drafted 2016 or before are scrubs?

Wow, best team in a long time and all people can do is cry about something. We are F’ing good but we should have stayed status quo from last year and we would be better, right?

I look forward to every game am have excitement again. It’s fun. Stop crying and let’s enjoy the ride.

I really think that's the route he's going.
