Bennett is terrible, he only has 2 goals.

4th pick with only 2 goals- what a joke.

*not only that, but his fight last night was useless.
Calgary was losing 2-0 and somehow won 4-2

Dude can throw them

Notorious slow starter Sam Reinhart is on a 53 point pace.

Even if he doesn't pick it up like he did the second half of last season he finishes around 60.

If he does pick it like he did last season he finishes close to 70 points.

Remember Phil put him with Skinner and Eichel and he was a big part of the comeback when they were down 2 goals with 3 minutes left?

I know people want more from him and for a 2nd round pick he is a little underwhelming but who wouldn't take a 60-65 point season out of him?

Carter Hutton stole the game against the Peg, Ullmark played very well last night.

Dahlin looks great and he is going to keep improving.

This looks like a team very much on the up and up.

- Stripes77

I would take 60-65 pts from Sam for sure.
An observation...
-at 2-11-13 to date, included in that projection of 53 points is a Goal total of 8.

I would prefer more balance in those points, to see him pot alot more of those points as Goals...to which the same can be said for Eichel. If he finishes with those 53, it would be great to see it be something like 25-28-53 rather than 8-45-53. To hit 60-65, he will need to ramp up his pace by 20% more.
I'm pulling for him.

I still would like to see him with Casey more as I just believe those two could be deadly together...and it balances the scoring lines a bit as well.

I agree, sam needs to be a set up guy.
I like him better with mitts
I think 15-23 are too fancy together.
29 just goes hard to the net and shoots

How about some positivity.

-The Sabres are on pace for a 104 point season.

-If they were in the Metropolitan or Pacific divisions, they would be in 1st.

-After 20 games, they have a better record than Boston, Washington, Pitt, SJ and a bunch of other teams. They have the same record as CBJ and Winnipeg.

It's still fairly early in the season but these are great building blocks after the 20 game point. If they can find ways to win when they're not at their best, those points will mean something at the end of the season. Not bad for a team that has found it's way out of the abyss.

Do we want to fire Housley yet? And I'm gonna tell ya, Steve Smith is making a difference behind the bench.

And they have 3 1st rd picks next year.

Next up, prospects report.

- mhp

Housley - it takes time for some coaches to find their way as fist-time head coaches. He deserves more time.

The team is learning to win, and that mind-set will be valuable going forward. A strong-willed team can become very dangerous. Much different then the fragile mind-set we have see for far too long.
Fun to witness the development of it!

Eichel was sour at skunk, you could see it in his body language at the end of the second.

Skunk was chirping with Foligno and smiling while Eichel skated away shaking his head, he was off that line to start the third.

Basically what I’m saying is that Nelson noticed that and made the call to switch it up...and Dahlin is better than Eichel

- washedup20

That, or as Housley said in his press conference, he noticed Pominville's minutes were low and he wanted to get him more ice time.

Weissbach- 2g and 6a in 6 games for Wisconsin. He had 26 in 34 games last year.

- mhp

Solid Post.
You replacing Chris Baker?
Pekar is going to be fun here eventually...Sabres need a gritty son-of-a-female dog.
I'm hoping Samuelsson turns into a stud Dman...he could be a great add down the line.
UPL's development timeline could be perfect with Hutton's contract.
Keep up the updates

That, or the 53- 9- 23 line wasn't clicking.

My educated guess would be both, as in he wanted to get Jason more minutes and he was looking to shake things up and get a spark.

Since the start of last year, Sam Reinhart has 12 5 on 5 goals. Some players also with 12 or more

Ryan Spooner
Chris Tierney
Dimitry Orlov (Hes a D man)
Zach Werenski
Sam Bennett
Lars Eller
Riley Nash
Bobby Ryan
Ryan O’Reilly
Connor Sheary
Jake Virtanen
Tom Wilson

People really need to stop pretending Reinhart is anything but an average 2nd liner

I’m just so confused what the constant arguing over Sam is about?

He isn’t that good, period.

He isn’t that bad, period.

He’s an ok player who’s going to be shuffled around the lineup his whole career here

it's not an argument

some think he stinks

some think he is fine

simple logic dictates that with a stable coach, and a team getting better, reinhart gets better

kid was good for 50 points on the worst team in the nhl last year, common sense shows he gets better, and the stats prove it as they have gotten better every year

just like eichels stats get better

but sense a few of you guys like to pound on him like a $20 whore, the conversation continues

yet he was tied with eichel and draisaitl with 25 goals last season

only 58 players got more last year, but go on

skinner had fewer goals with more ice time

When he makes plays, I acknowledge it.

When he’s a ghost, I acknowledge it.

I’m disappointed in him as a top pick. As an overall player he’s been ok.

There really shouldn’t be this hot debate about him. He hasn’t done anything really special or really bad (except his start and finish last year where he basically evened out)

And Skinner playing with Eichel is about to demolish what Reinhart did last year, but go on.

your right, it shouldn't be a debate

he is not trash, he is a decent young player on a team that is turning the corner

some people get a hard on because he gets flipped with pommer at the end of the game

some get bent out of shape because of where he was picked

kid averages 22 goals a season and is getting better every year

is he an all star, probably never will be one

is he a good piece for our top 6, no doubt he is

Draisaitl got 25 goals, and he is great last season
Skunk gets 25 goals, and he is a skunk

how is that a bad thing?

I am glad skinner is doing well, I want him here long term

there will be games jack wins, games skinner wins, games pommer wins, games hutton wins, games dahlin wins, games skunk wins

reinhart becomes an even better player when guys like skinner and eichel take it to the next level
