In frickin November they do.
We need to change course NOW...This year or early next!
Come on is that not true?
Or what is this???? - DrMidnite
No they need to continue on course. Young players make mistakes. They learn from it. That is how players get better. The vets who make mistakes are on their way out. If they can move AMac, Weise(He has played well) and Lehtera they will but they most likely have to wait out their contracts. They will need all the money they can get to sign these young guys. |

Can anyone tell if Simmonds flying broken stick went off Pickard or ghost during the last goal? Flyers have to be near the top in the league with stick breaks over their own net. God forbid amac catches an errant piece of one we’d be looking at a new player development coach after his contract |

Was Simmonds’ goal today a garbage goal? I thought his goal was one that should inspire a team. He didn’t give up. We needed a goal. He kept working hard.
Simmonds has been a top three forward on this team for years. He’s one of the guys you look to when the game is on the line, even in OT. Simmonds isn’t without his flaws but he’s a player who was put out there in a situation that goes from end to end. It’s up to everyone to play catch up and he didn’t. It happens. Simmonds isn’t a topical grinder. He’s more. - SuperSchennBros
That is why he is valuable now IN A TRADE he will not be around in the glory days.
Unless we resign him in a cup year!!!!!!!!

I like Simmonds a lot and like most of you have respected him for years. But nothing he does well translates to OT, and all of his shortcomings are front and center. Especially with it being three on three now, it’s very little opportunity to set up shop down low in a cycle sequence. Much more skating and generating your own shot in space.

Garbage goal doesn’t mean it was a bad goal. It means he cleaned up the garbage in front. Banging away at loose pucks. It’s just hockey jargon. |

Simmonds scores goals well. That doesn't translate well to OT? Simmonds is not just a camp in front of the net player.

I agree. He flat out shouldn’t be used. I would even go weal over him if they had to. I’d rather put a guy out there with puck carrying ability. But 3 vs 3 is as gimmicky as a shootout. Barely resembles hockey |

Exactly. People are interpreting that because he’s not someone I’d play in 3 on 3 that it somehow means he’s bad. |

LOL. Shame on you Hammar if you thought they'd win once they tied the game. You know better! - PLindbergh31
when weise hit the post after 5-5, i was pretty certain they’d lose in the end, whichever way. i was not surprised. |

He was so close there. Puck just rolled off of his stick a little. He had room.

My whole PROCESS is: move on from G and Jake NOW, to have a CORE. With Ghost, Provy, Hart, Patrick as your core IN ADDITION TO WHATEVER YOU GET FOR G AND JAKE, is that a bad idea?, if so, Why? |

I wasn’t surprised either. When Tampa went up 5–1, I was pretty sure the flyers would lose in the end |

Hey thats great. You must really like that Anaheim goal where coots did all the work to post it twice. Not going to waste time over 3 vs 3 usage you want him out there great. - Just5
That's a ridiculous reply. He's scored 3 OT game winners in like the last calendar year. You don't have the facts and you're wrong.

You can’t trade giroux. He does way too much for this team. |

Answer your own question: to which team(s) do you trade CG and JV and what do you get in return?
I'll hang up and listen.

Giroux and Voracek are top player and there is no reason why they can't continue to be top players for the next 5-6 years. That's why.

I’d be open to dealing Voracek this summer but for what. Not interested in picks. Young nhl player with big upside |

It’s less impressive when the flyers get themselves into about 30 OTs a year |

Flyers played a solid home stand. If the Flyers continue to play like this they are going to win a lot of hockey games the rest of the year.
Even though the PK has taken its lumps lately, the players will try harder soon and execute better. Same for the PP. Then once Elliot gets back they’ll hit paydirt.
Should end up being a solid successful season. Any kind of improvement from last year is a successful season in my book. Especially if the PK and PP improves. They don’t necessarily have to win a playoff series.
Heh, maybe they should even hang a little banner to showcase the improvement this team has been doing lately. Ya know, something for the fans. |
