Hope you are right. We cannot miss on these top 10 picks.
- 67hawks

This!! A club can't miss on top picks in the hard cap era....... Boqvist is a new era Dman, + skater, D almost optional, no hit. Just watch a much lauded Karlsson for a few games to see D isn't so imperative. Get a 6th rd shutdown Dman to be his partner.

As a Hawks fan I'll be patient, forget hoping for a 2 way game, any physical play and hope the kid develops into a 1st unit PP guy and a push the pace difference maker.

Curious, how did you watch the Knights?

Bouchard and Merkley have both already played multiple years in the OHL. It is Boqvist’s first year on small ice and he has had to adjust. Was hitting his stride when he got hurt and missed a number of games, and was set back, so again ramping up. Boqvist hasn’t come close to playing his best hockey yet and he is still averaging almost a point a game for a D-Man. Wonderful Draft Pick.

Happened to look at Merkley's stats the other day. The 2000 enigma is rolling (until he implodes?) with 29 points in 20 games. https://www.eliteprospect...layer/273668/ryan-merkley

My guy Wahlstrom has struggled as a true freshman at BC: https://www.eliteprospect...r/241370/oliver-wahlstrom

Of course many thought the fuc*^#* beast 19 yr old Tkachuk scoring 8 goals as a true freshman last yr at BU meant he was a bum but the kid in 9 NHL games is a point per game player on 5 goals, 9 points, 3 PP points, a fight and 3 hits per game. https://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/players/7902/

Gotta let these things play out over 10 yrs but you just can't miss on top 10-15 players.

I want Eriksson Ek! ......... I think 24 yr old Dumba has hit his developmental stride and will be a top 10-15 Dman, at least, for the next 6-7 yrs. Kid has 8 goals already.

He's in tonight after being a healthy scratch. Plus Stalock in net, not Dubnyk. At least I think.

Dumba(ss) is good and will be for years. I just don't like him.

It was either TSN or Sportsnet in Canada yesterday afternoon. Probably TSN as Sportsnet does Hockey Night in Canada on Saturdays. Found it while surfing channels.

There was a poster on here that was very, very high on Merkley right up to the Draft and said the Hawks should move to draft him. He also said a smart team would take him in the First Round no matter what some scouts said. Oh right it was me.

Just to put this out there, as I have written some critical things about the coaching change (largely directed at retaining Stanbo while cutting Quenneville loose)...

I will reserve my opinion on Colliton, but I think that if a coaching change was being seriously considered (since it happened, I am presuming that it was) -then the time to have made the switch would have been during this past offseason.

I know Duchene's name was brought up a number of times, but on Ott's blog, it says that his agent, Pat Brisson, is talking for the 2nd time this season about a contract extension. Management has to decide his worth and if they want him. After the Uber video .............. idk?????
- I Am The Breadman

The team has to put as much positive spin as necessary. If they just dumped on duchess because if the video and said they wanted to get rid of him, they would seriously undercut what they might be able to get for him. Treating the video as a non-event and talking about resigning him raises his value.

Didn't think about that. I totally understand that. In regards to duchess, which made me laugh, I thought of this.

I loved how much he loved the tribute and how good the guys are with the kids.

Eddie Olczyk on being honored tonight: "I'm sure a lot of things will be going through my head & I've only had about 7,000 ppl tell me not to fall. There are no speed bumps out there, they don't need that, I'm not going to be going that fast, I know that. But it's a great honor."

I'm sure one was from Q.

Regardless of that stat that's been going around, they've been pretty good together (and getting better as time goes on). Saad has helped.

I can agree with that PD, Saad was needed over Schmaltz on that line. And Adb needs a set-up player like Schmaltz.
