Jim and his staff got the Canucks to near the top of the farm system charts with half as many picks as the Flyers. So shut it Lefty.

that's what happens when you finish at the bottom of the league three of four years, draft positions - 23rd, 3rd, 2nd & 6th last vs 7th, 18th, 12th & 19th last.

I must admit, I enjoy how my FlyerBuzz comments get in your kitchen a little bit.

This is where selecting based on need got in the way of selecting the best player available. The Canucks badly needed depth on D and took the highest rated player at that position. Maybe he was the highest rated player on the Canucks board, but I can't help but think positional need played a part.

I agree, he was the highest ranked D on the board. Tchunck would look good right now riding petersons wing....
It'll all work out, with all the elite 200 foot players we have, does defense even matter anymore?

I thought that post was neutral, neither positive or negative.

It's the total number of mentions in a thread that counts when talking about curmudgeon points.

No morning skate for the Canucks today - which is probably wise. It leaves me a little short on lineup notes, but we're not expecting to see any injured players return against Montreal.

So, a look at how Marc Bergevin's trades are paying off and a top-level rookie matchup between Pettersson and Kotkaniemi in the new blog:
