Best stint in a couple years.

Truth!
It was very entertaining. It was also good to see glimpses of hope for the future.

Again, its up to this team’s management to review the schedule when it’s sent out to all 31 teams and then raise concerns.

Gilman has gone on record saying that the Canucks annoyed the hell outta the league back then to avoid schedules like this.

Are the Canucks banking on the soft back half of the schedule? Most of the divisional play is after xmas. 4 point games... mostly at home or a short flight away... all the eastern big hitters out of the way for the season... the complete flip side to the first half.

If the Canucks ever manage to stay relevant and get some bodies back... it could pay off but thats a 5 story tall if.

We certainly didnt feast on poor divisional opponents to be in 1st place at game 19.

Seems like it, Marwood pointed it out already, but it seems like they prefer getting the tough travel out of the way in the first half of the season.

Being a 200 foot player doesn't mean you have to be hard around the net, you just have to try hard to get the puck. That's what makes beagle great and Gaunce elite. Results don't matter, it's all about the try.

If we can play 500 hockey while our elite 200 foot centers are injured then I don't see why we're can't play 750 hockey when we have an easy schedule and all our franchise foundational players back in the lineup. We'd have to be 15 games below 500 at the halfway mark to not make the playoffs.

Looking forward to seeing if Peterson can up his game in the 2019 playoffs!

A couple seasons back, when Linden was still here, he talked about these issues being raised.
One of his concerns back then, was when in New York, they would like to play all 3 teams, New Jersey, & the 2 New York teams.
Instead of bouncing around from city to city, he had asked that trying to keep the road trips more regional, was the Canucks preference.
He was frustrated at that time about the league not willing to accept those recommendations.

I think getting rid of the road trips up front is a smart move. You are the healthiest then and not worn from the season.

It still took it's toll on te team but glad to get it over with.

Is that why Motte and Schaller are still in the lineup every night?

The NHL has never seen geography as an issue to help maintain a competetive balance. Crap like a 4pm home game only further states that. Eff the Leafs & Habs for getting their home team start time. Can’t those wimps stay up later on a Saturday night?

while not great, they're still good 200 foot players, it's about trying hard in all 3 zones.

It’s not for the players, it’s for the fans (aka - the TV revenue)

I am a good 200’ player, I try hard in all three zones. And once a year I get rewarded with a goal!

This goes for men’s league too...

It’s for the larger TV viewing audience. It’s about $. Don’t be such a whiner.

Because a Tuesday in San Jose is not a national broadcast.
