Hopefully they let Spooner loose with McD, but (frank) me, the Oilers centre depth is just putrid. Especially if they keep RNH and/or Drai on the wing.

I’m assuming Spooner was acquired to replace Reider as 2LW. If so then I have no idea who gets to be 3C. Khaira? Caggiula?

Traded a low-event, good fundamentals guy for a guy with more skill but a more limited toolkit. I guess if Spooner can find a fit on the 2nd line then and Marody or Khaira can hold the 3rd line up then it could turn out pretty well. It's turning a guy that was providing value when he wasn't scoring (PK, low-event pulling even at 5-on-5) for a guy who is a negative value when he isn't scoring. Pretty much just undoing the Eberle trade for a lesser version of Eberle.

Minimum if Chia is making the trade. Devs say thanks again. But Eb's for strome was a massive loss. Strome to spooner was an improvement. Spooner has a very good ppg, and may be just what that L2 needs to start contributing. Get rid of Russel and Lucic and you guys just might have a future.
