Dylan Strome is fifth on the Coyotes with a 52.46% possession rating.

= 1 extra shot attempt/game

Not sure you really understand how this stat is supposed to be used, actually I'm sure you don't.

Did you watch the same game I did? I ask because the final score was 2-1, not 2-0. I can understand typo errors but in the very first sentence?

Archibald is probably going to miss a few games due to his head shot on Ryan Hartman last night. I couldn't believe he only got a 2 minute minor for that. He will have his hearing with the NHL today. He didn't launch himself but it was definitely a head shot. He will probably get 2 games.

I called that. Archibald received a 2 game suspension

now that the Rangers have Ryan Strome, we'll take Dylan Strome off your hands.

how about Namestnikov for Dylan Strome?

I’m sure it’s been posted before but Chych has a minor injury. I was at the game. There’s a huge lack of support in the D and the O zones. It’s leading to pucks staying in our zone but leaving the o zone earlier than it should. Just mental mistakes.
I was disappointed to see both Subban and Strome wouldn’t be playing. Strome has looked really good when he’s gotten time with Keller. For a time he was also leading the NHL in faceoff %, I’m not sure where that’s gone to now.
It was a lucky win. The Grabner goal was garbage.
Friends of mine here in the Valley want Tocchet gone. Problem is, they’d be on the hook for his contract still. Is that something these Coyotes can afford? I don’t think so, sadly
Kuemper looked great btw. You can call him the backup but he typically has quite a few more good outings than bad ones. His rebound control was excellent, whereas Rinne on the other end was fighting the puck all night

The blog title should be changed to Powerfully Bad Luck Defeats the Best Team in the NHL. After all, the Preds played as well without getting results as the Coyotes did earlier in the season. If you won't hold your team accountable for losses (because you chalk each one up to being unlucky), you don't have any business being happy for the wins, IMO.

Kuemper was the biggest factor in the win. Just my opinion, but hot goaltending shouldn’t fall under the category of “luck”

Arguably the worst trade proposal I've ever heard.

It most definitely should. If you allow 44 shots, you have something like a 20 % chance of winning, when you do, it will be because of the goalie. But any time you win with a 20% chance, that's because of luck.

I took some crap for calling Kuemper the best backup int he league, but I really think he might be. Maybe Grubaur, but its close.
