Yea I would. Because our biggest issues isn't defense...it's goaltending and a desire to show up to the rink. This team..won a cup WITHOUT Letang...u gotta give to get in this league. U wanna trade Sid? Geno? Phil? All of whom are on FANTASTIC cap deals. Moving sprong for whatever WILL NEVER FIX THIS TEAM.

We are the biggest joke of a team right now. Maybe Rick Tocchet and Jason Botterill were bigger losses to this team than everyone thought. It's only 1 year, but to go into the offseason with $$$ to spend and a hungry young guy who's cheap and wants to play hard might be worth it in the long run

They need multiple. We are definitely not 1 or 2 players away from winning. At this point they need a big change to make a statement. Or even a statement game, because they continue to play lifeless unmotivated hockey

So what...the party is over...MAF is gone..and Sid and Geno don't have a lot of time left together. Moving a 31 year old overrated (somewhat) defenceman is not bad. It's ok to blow things up a bit. I don't think moving Phil helps...I definitely don't think moving Sid or Geno is possible. And EVERY OTHER PLAYER..will not move the needle enough in a trade. Band aids have fallen off this team and we can't patch it up anymore with plugs.

Letang isn't overrated. He's a number 1 defenseman. They do not have another number 1 defenseman. Schultz is not. Dumo is not. Everyone else is not. Team defense as a whole is a problem. Roster construction has been a problem for 2 seasons. Letang is not part of the problem. Neither is Phil, or Geno, or Sid.

Those are the pieces that every team has difficulty acquiring, you don't trade them just for the sake of trade. It's foolish. If you're going to blow anything up, you look to move Hornqvist, Rust, Maatta, JJ, Sprong, 1sts, future 1sts. You move on from the guys who are underperforming. It makes no sense to keep the guys who are sucking and move the guys who are good. wtf kind of logic is that.
