Since Friedman mentioned PIT and ANA having discussions...some ideas I've seen floating around the interwebs...

Sprong for Ritchie
Maatta for Montour
Maatta+ for Manson
Rust for Cogliano

I think defensively Oleksiak or Maatta may be going the other way. I don't see this being a one for one type deal though. I think Rust has picked it up. I still wonder if it is enough to keep him from being moved, but unless a trade blows JR away I don't see him being move. I do think if Brassard shows in Crosby's absence that he is not a good fit that he may be a trade candidate. I do like the idea of Montour or Manson coming to Pittsburgh due to being a Right shot. I feel as though they would pair well with Oleksiak, Maatta, or dire I say it? JJ.

I would love to see Henrique, Manson, Montour, Aberg, or Cogliano in a Pens uniform.



Trade Idea:
Penguins: Henrique, Montour (I would think he would be a better fit offensively), Aberg

Anaheim: Oleksiak or Maatta (my gut says Maatta has more value, but I could see Anaheim putting more stock into Oleksiak due to his offensive upside), Brassard, Sprong, Draft Pick


Penguins would get a fast 3rd line center in Henrique who would probably adapt to our system better. We would get Aberg who also brings some additional speed (previously a wavier claim by Ana but he does seem to have some offensive talent). We would also receive a Right handed D who would pair well with many of our players. (I know we add cap to the team, but I think the speed Henrique and aberg could bring it would turn our team around).


Anaheim would get Brassard who seems like someone who would fit their team a litter better. He could move back into a 2nd center role and Kesler could be their 3rd line center. They would receive (if Oleksiak) a good fast Defensemen who could score points for them. I think they would let him open up a bit in the 2nd pairing. They would also receive Sprong to slot in possibly even on their top line with Perry out and a draft pick.

Alotta of people hating on him but for a guy who was being put in a position he wasn't used to and being moved around lines a bit, I thought he was looking decent to pretty good most nights. He brings speed and skill plus much needed C depth right now. 5 points in 8 games is nothing to scoff about. I'm stoked to have him back.

I never understood fantasy sports. It’s like people aren’t satisfied with watching and enjoying sports anymore. Gotta pretend they know everything and could run a franchise. It’s stupid and a waste of money. I’ve spent 2000 on vehicles that kept me without a car payment for 4 years.

Pittsburgh Hockey Now has Grant as the 3C tonight with Sheahan bumped to 4LW. Interesting. Not as interesting as Sully having Grant on the ice with the empty net in the last game. Still don't understand that one. Wilson sent down thankfully.

Nah... It's entertainment. Maybe not for you. Not for me either (I used to do fantasy football....lost interest), but who am I to say what people should enjoy? Most fantasy sports don't require those big "buy in's".
