Guys, no panic on the Penstanic. Trading MM because of a few weak games would be simply insane, guy has lost his father not too long ago... he will refind his confidence and come back, be sure. |

I don't understand why y'all would part with guentzel for Nylander. Jake is legendarily good in the playoffs....has known chemistry with Sid (rare), and will also be in for a big payday like Nylander .... |

When Brett Favre's dad died he has the best game of his career on MNF same day. MM just sucks, moving MAF was dumb. Sully is the next to go, hes a terrible coach. |

Given the expansion draft it was (age, contract stage, highly needed cap that time...) the right decision, as we really couldn't expose MM, but really dumb is that we still owe VGK a second in 2020 for protecting whatever (Cole, ...) we in the meantime got already or should have gotten rid off anyways. And it got very stupid when we started investing every new $ of cap into dubious decisions... 5 Years of JJ being one of the worst GM jokes ever. |

So Bradford at DK's site now says Sheahan was a healthy scratch....not an injury like he originally speculated. |

Cullen needs to not play. He is terrible. I know he scored but other than that...... Yuck. |

Honestly, I'm worried about Guentzal being a complete non-factor for long stretches of games. I'm more worried about paying him 6-7 million dollars to do so. I wish we'd see more of playoff Jake 'cause they need him right now. |

Yeah I dont understand Guentzel either. He does nothing for long stretches but come playoff time he's scoring hat tricks and breaking records left and right lol. |

Just watched the re cap. It’s not entirely MM fault but why is Sully starting him when CD is paying better? MAF never got that type of backing. I really think RW was right about him favouring his guys.
JJ has to stop chasing the play behind the net. 2 goals direct result of him abandoning the front of the net to chase. |

MAF carried the Pens through the playoffs 2 years ago and has 1 minor slip when MM is back from injury and is gone. MAF would have been Conn Smythe winner had sully not pulled him.
Willing to bet its the same deal with Sprong as well....hes not a Sully guy so he gets the shaft. |

I’m going back to my original hypothesis then. Sheahan is next up. My guess though? Salary dump. |

Sundquist has 4G in 10 games for the blues....Why again do they have Sheehan, Cullen, Grant as a 4C? |

I love how people are making this moving Murray talk so easy. First off, making a trade for a proven starting goalie is PROBABLY the hardest move to make.
Look at alllll the teams in the NHL that get poop for never bringing in a good goalie year-after-year. It's (frank)in hard unless you're prepared to give up MAJOR parts. I posted this earlier, but for all of those continuing to talk about moving Murray, ask yourselves these questions:
1) Is DeSmith or Jarry ready to be a starter? Coming in for stretches and playing an entire season are very different. Probably the major adjustment for every newer goalie.
2) What do you expect to get in return for Murray? I can assure it's not another #1 goalie.
Now, should Sullivan keep starting DeSmith? Sure, I can't argue that. At least from two games I paid closer attention to, the Pens played tighter games with him in net. Last night was a clear example when they played the same in front of both goalies.
Murray is the #1 and you can't blame Sullivan to go back to him to see how's handling things. |

Ok, we can't keep doing this. If every team kept looking back at players that didn't pan out for them and worked on another team they'd drive themselves nuts.
Sundqvist was not playing well for the Pens. That's all. |

Not to forget that he had a single goal in 42GP with Blues last year.
But we also know that it was the quest for Reaves coz he was shipped.
Exactly that Reaves, who could now inhale our 4th line some kind of life... |

When does the sense of urgency happen? Defensive lapses, poor passing, bad penalties, rough construction of bottom six lead to Pens being bottom dwellers. You can’t cite a lack of leadership given the experience of the core group. Cullen should be the 13th or 14th forward. The Schultz injury has really hurt the defense more than I imagined it would. |
