Oh look, the people that were gone while they were winning show up in droves after two losses.
- opeth_pa

Oh look one goal combined against Eastern Conf. cellar dwellars Florida and NJ on home ice.
Oh look the worst home record in the eastern conference.
Oh look 7 consecutive years of missing the playoffs or first round exits.
Oh look a 44 year cup drought and counting.

Keep defending everything they do. It's clearly logical. The results are backing you up.

Who cares.

I am sooooo tired of people complaining about the fans and the posters and everything other then the team and orginIzation that we all come here to talk about.

- ggunky

Yeah if those people wanted to talk about the negatives of the Flyers, of which their are many, then great cause I hate the certain things about this team.

Two people come here typically without a single legit thing go say usually and that takes away from the overall flow.

On to what's wrong..

1. I have a bigger issue with Hextall right now then Hak. Hexy ultimately has control of the available roster and he has built a team of lukewarm oatmeal.

2. You can't go into the season with Neuvy as a backup. He isn't reliable enough health wise to roll that dice.

3. Not a single player plays with an edge right now.

It's complete drama and overreaction. That's what I'm tired of.

- MJL

And it is their opinion.

The fact is laced inside of what is said, when you remove the emotion, is legit.

How did Extreme, the same band famous for "More Than Words" also write the song "Play With Me" within a 3-year span? Quite the opposite songs.

I disagree. The emotion is what is driving the over reaction. Thankfully, I don't think Hextall reacts in that manner.

Edmonton has been looking for a winger to pair with Draistal. Voracek could look attractive there.

To Philadelphia: Nugent-Hopkins, Puljujärvi, Khaira

To Edmonton: Voracek, Gudas, Weal, 3rd rounder

Far off? Not enough on Flyers end?

Does it hurt the Flyers too much? Nugent Hopkins would upgrade your 3c and pk.

Just trying to see what people think. In my mind I think moving one of Simmonds or Voracek could be the move and not necessarily hurt the team depending on return

- J35Bacher

The more I have watched RNH the more I like the other non-fancy parts of his game. Would he be super helpful for the Flyers (PP AND PK)...Absolutely.

Would I do this trade? Absolutely.
Would Edmonton? No way

Best case: RNH for Voracek (Sorry no way V gets a 25 year old two way center PLUS). That means Edmonton is trading Puljujärvi and Khaira for Gudas, Weal and a 3rd? I get Puljujärvi is not lighting the league on fire, but that's like trading Patrick for Russell, Benning, Rattie and a 4th...why?

Tips for trade proposals:
If you can look at the trade and not care who you are losing, it's a bad trade.

My biggest issue is, this team is milk toast.

I was offered 2 free tickets and a parking pass, for last nights game, and never even entertained the idea of accepting them.

Until the special teams improve this team will not win a round in the playoffs.

I don't want to nitpicking individual games. This is now about making the playoffs and making noise in the playoffs.

With the special teams play, this team is currently displaying, they have 0 chance of winning a playoff round. It will be tough to even win a single game.

I was told by the GM that this year was the year to take a step.

The GM IGNORED upgrading the PK, after speaking out about the poor PK after last season and stating he was going to address it.

How should he of upgraded the PK? I'm not asking for specifics because I think that's unfair to ask but in general.

You could use that for a lot of players. Let's trade them all.
- MJL

Simmonds is the one in a contract year and not likely to hold up over the course of his next deal. Don't be dumb.

What's dumb is over reacting to what has happened this season to this point and thinking that it speeds up or changes the time line for a trade of Simmonds, if it is going to happen. Anyone doing that is being dumb and over reacting.

6+ years without a playoff win but overreacting to this year. Ok.

Yes, absolutely. If they had won last night, a trade of Simmonds would not be a main topic of conversation today and you know that.

I feel the fans should be shouting from the rafters this is unacceptable.

In not asking for an overreaction but if there is a deal for Simmonds or Jake that improves this team now and for the future you got to do it. Mainly to slap the ones who stay here that it could be them if they don't shape up.

Maybe not. But a lot of us have been saying trade Simmonds for a year now. It's not something due to last night's loss.

My point is that you do that in any case rather than the trade being driven by the current state of the team. Hextall should not abandon the plan.

It's being rehashed because of the loss. If they're going to trade Simmonds, you wait for the right deal. You don't make whatever you can get now simply because the team isn't playing consistently.

To repeat what Hextall said:

"It would be a forward. We'd like to add a penalty-killing forward"

Cool. Next win I'll still stand by the fact they should trade Simmonds. I can't speak for anyone else.

As always, the right player has to be available. Whether that is as a UFA, which means the player has to be willing to sign here for the right money and term. If it's a trade, you have to be able to find a deal that fits.

Status quo.

The GM, in his actions, has accepted 27th rank PK.

He accepted a PK that he self admitted needed improvement.

The GM did NOTHING to change the PK after admitting, himself, that it wasn't good enough and he was going to address it.

Status quo.

I don't care if you do. I have no issue with the idea that Simmonds is an older player and the smart thing to do might be to deal him for quality future assets. No problem whatsoever. I do have an issue with over reactions and adding urgency to that situation because of the current state of the team or the nonsense that Simmonds is not a good player anymore.
