Eliott is fine, but they need another solid goalie to go with him unless you think he’s going to morph into Brodeur and play every game left in the schedule

I'm not advocating running Elliott into the ground again.

Maybe my memory sucks, but I remember Elliott playing pretty well last year until he got injured and looked like a totally different goalie when he came back.

Flyers need to be careful with match ups. That Weal line looks like they’re capable of creating offense but will likely offer very little in the defensive end. I’ve always voted for Giroux to go back to center so that Hakstol could have an advantage with Giroux, Couturier, Patrick and Laughton playing the middle but with the reality of our current group of centers, he might be creating more work for some players then others. I’ll reserve judgement until I see us play.

I’m hoping changes have been made on the Power Play. I really want to see Giroux, Voracek, Gostisbehere, Simmonds and JvR together in case I haven’t beaten that to death.

Elliot has also allowed 0 goals against the blackhawks on Saturday afternoon games, ranking 1st in the league.

In other words you can't refute what I'm stating and realize it's correct.

Dude, get a grip. You are complaining about a guy but not offering a solution. Weal is not the most ideal 3C but at this time he's a viable option. When Raffl is back I'm not opposed to moving Laughton to the 3C but at this time Weal is fine, Laughton has played well on the wing. Please explain how you are correct. Who should be 3C?

Fair shot? He has been our 3rd Center for majority of the year and he has 2 points more than Lehtera. How is that not a fair shot. If you arent getting the job done, you dont last. Your Boss isnt going to give you a full year to see if you do your job performance becomes acceptable. If it is unacceptable they get rid of you within a couple weeks.

Checking the records, first night for Weal at 3C was Oct. 20. Today is Nov. 15. Flyers are 6-4-1 during the experiment, which is ongoing.

But how long can Hak be patient about waiting to see Weal progress and get points?
- dragonoffrost

I’m thinking it is not Hak who’s impatient.

It is really his first year at C, plus the whole team was garbage to begin the year and Weal was not at C to begin the year. I say game 25, unless laughton just takes it from him.

Couple things, I think Laughton is better on the wing. I like his speed, aggressiveness and I think he has an underrated wrist shot.

lastly, the options are not there for 3C, it is Weal or Laughton. Weal is not putting up points but is driving play. In essence he is not hurting you, so with limited options, it is what it is... You hope he steps up and things bounce his way.

That was kind of my point how much patience before Laughton is at 3C?

Truth is probably when they have their next bad game or losing streak.

Me, I would get to game 25.

Do we think Laughton will be a big upgrade? Keep in mind you have to offset what you lose on the wing.

wild card in the decision, JVR will need ice time, can't pay him 7 mil to not play. So the truth is whoever is playing better between Weal and Laughton on any given night will get reps with JVR and have more ice time.

I think most tend to agree with you, but when they see him drop his shoulder and only plow around the perimeter like a poor man's Yakupov they get frustrated. When was the last time you saw him weave directly towards the net and dish? It appears he isn't the comfortable dangling into traffic and goes to the shoulder drop almost out of habit. He has skill...you can see it, but he plays like a mimi Jake along the rim but doesn't get the puck in for high danger shots.

I’ll let you know tonight after I have seen 1 game with JVR. Tough to guess without ever seeing them together.
