Except the part where you said he'd be in their top-six easily and then I listed 9 guys who could fill those spots.
- Unholy_Goalie

well, that was the reason I said that you obviously don't know Willie Ny's status in Sweden in general and first of all for coach Gronborg... Amongst the wingers you mentioned, he's the 1st or 2nd choice.

You're right but he wasn't counting on LA being the worst team in the league. If the Kings decide to blow it up, maybe he reconsiders where he wants to play now that he got his pay day.

I used Doughty as the immediate example but it could be another #1 RHD out there. The point is, if you can improve the team by moving Rielly and Nylander, the Leafs would be stupid not to do it.

Don't bring logic into a conversation with UG. He's convinced himself Nylander will fetch a top pair RHD in a trade (he won't). And when this top pairing RHD doesn't come back in a trade for Nylander he'll blame Leafs management for not getting a top pairing RHD in a trade

And we'll hear about it every night until mercifully we die in some kind of vehicle accident, disease or more likely, suicide.

- walshyleafsfan

But he was willing to take Bouchard who is nowhere near a #1D or NHL ready.....I’m getting a headache....I read you loud and clear sir

Ah, I was referring to the original when you said-

"Nobody. Andersen is from Denmark and Nylander is technically property of the Leafs but not playing and would be in tough even if he was."

That was a bit of a hot take

- lonnyBohonos

It'd be tough depending what their coaches want to bring with them and what they want from each line. You've got really good Canadians who don't make it every year because one year they decided to bring Kunitz. Putting up the points doesn't always guarantee the coach or the GM picks the player. I think he'd make the team but being a lock to be a 1st or 2nd line player wouldn't be easy or a given, Sweden has a lot of really good forwards.

Think the shot clock is broken or we just don't wanna count it anymore... might be they fell asleep with this game Only 30-17?? Course how the hell did LA get 17?
- Roadrunner75

They completely gave up on counting the Leafs shots.

Nobody to play with really. Plus he is getting older and slowing down too. Teams know to keep him covered so he doesn't get a lot of room and he doesn't really drive the net a lot as is.

Brown been hurt and also not going to the net like last season, yet again.

- Roadrunner75

im a bit surprised they don't try kovalchuk with him but i guess they dont trust kovalchuk defensively?

No I'm not moving the goal posts. I'm pointing out how absurd your statements are.

It's easy to say, "If we can make the team better, we should do so." It's another to make actual smart moves that do it. Your suggestions if they were even possible, could very possibly blow up in the team's face, rather than improving them.

- Thecakeisalie

Acquiring the best RHD (and best D) in the league and then getting a very good #2 D in return for Nylander would not blow up in the team's face. Nope. What's absurd is that some people can't see that the team would be better (especially defensively) if they could pull off that kind of move.

Yeah, overall though Kings need a rebuild and need speed added to the team. They're hurting honestly. The grinding heavy body game is gone and teams are just all over them and they can't generate real well off the rush anymore. And the high priced guys are starting to really break down on them some too.

It's not gone. Washington did it last year. Boston does it. Nashville does it. Winnipeg does it. it's just done a little differently and the Kings haven't adapted to that difference yet because their offensive players are older and can't score like they use to. They've also been hit with major injury issues.

Can't do that. Too much of a gamble. Better to play Andersen 82 games straight.

Top prospect RHD and top prospect RW with a big body. Two areas of need for the Leafs. Not really that much different.

Doughty has a (frank)ing no movement clause.

It ain't (frank)ing happening! Get the (frank) over it.
