Here is a crazy thought....if Doughty wanted to go to Toronto he would have just done so as a UFA.....the guy just resigned so why would he want to leave exactly? - RatedR80
You're right but he wasn't counting on LA being the worst team in the league. If the Kings decide to blow it up, maybe he reconsiders where he wants to play now that he got his pay day.
I used Doughty as the immediate example but it could be another #1 RHD out there. The point is, if you can improve the team by moving Rielly and Nylander, the Leafs would be stupid not to do it. |

Nobody. Andersen is from Denmark and Nylander is technically property of the Leafs but not playing and would be in tough even if he was. - Unholy_Goalie
Yea, Nylander who won gold with Sweden at the WC and led the tourney in points and won MVP would be tough to make Sweden. |

Except the part where you said he'd be in their top-six easily and then I listed 9 guys who could fill those spots. |

Of course, they'd probably not improve and just look stupid instead.

Don't bring logic into a conversation with UG. He's convinced himself Nylander will fetch a top pair RHD in a trade (he won't). And when this top pairing RHD doesn't come back in a trade for Nylander he'll blame Leafs management for not getting a top pairing RHD in a trade
And we'll hear about it every night until mercifully we die in some kind of vehicle accident, disease or more likely, suicide. |

Backstrom, Landeskog, Lindholm, Pettersson, Forsberg, W. Karlsson, Arvidsson, Rakell, Zibanejad...
You sure about that? Like Canada, Sweden has a lot of centers that could move to the wing. Wouldn't be "easy" at all. - Unholy_Goalie
Call me crazy but I've got a feeling he could get in there. Only ten forwards listed above. Nylander was the 5th highest scoring Swedish forward from the past 2 seasons.

Whether it's likely isn't what was being disputed. Now you're moving the goal posts. I said if the Leafs could move Rielly for a legit #1 RHD (like Doughty) and move Nylander to replace Rielly (Lindholm or Fowler) that the Leafs would be a better team. Is it likely? That depends on how teams (like LA) proceed with their being 31st overall but it's possible if they got hunting for teams with players that the Leafs need. |

Or we luck out and he gives himself a stroke female doging so hard...
Honestly can we trade him to the western conference for one of their trolls just to change it up and save ourselves from the 3am clusterfack?! |

He'd make the team. If he's in the top-six, that's not a given. There's lots of very good Swedish players who are more experienced, possibly better two-way players too. |

Think the shot clock is broken or we just don't wanna count it anymore... might be they fell asleep with this game Only 30-17?? Course how the hell did LA get 17? |

No I'm not moving the goal posts. I'm pointing out how absurd your statements are.
It's easy to say, "If we can make the team better, we should do so." It's another to make actual smart moves that do it. Your suggestions if they were even possible, could very possibly blow up in the team's face, rather than improving them. |

Nobody to play with really. Plus he is getting older and slowing down too. Teams know to keep him covered so he doesn't get a lot of room and he doesn't really drive the net a lot as is.
Brown been hurt and also not going to the net like last season, yet again. |
