And McDavid.
And Bergeron.
And Benn.
And Seguin.
And Stamkos.
And we haven't even gotten to guys like Toews, Johansen, Couture, Horvat +++ - As_I_See_It
Hmmm, when you put it like that...
Can Tavares play as a defenseman? Goalie? |

Montour and Ritchie for Nylander is (frank)ing horrible.
Parayko isn't the best deal but it'd be at least understandable albeit less than ideal. |

It's 5-1 instead of 4-1, and this is the Kings instead of the Bruins, so there's probably no need to worry. Sleep well. - Thecakeisalie

Must say; you really have a talent for pretending to know it all.
Willie would easily play top6 hockey for Team Sweden. - 21peter
The best part is that everything he says proves he doesn't have a clue. |

So you want to trade away the younger asset with the better cap hit?
Rielly might not be a better player than Doughty, but when you factor in all the variables I don't think that would be an intelligent move. - BetterCallSaul
It would be really dumb, despite how good Doughty is still. |

One thing the pundits are not taking into account is if teams really want him they have to up the ante over the other teams. Slavin might not be in play, but if say Anaheim switched from Montour to Manson in a deal it might move Carolina to say ok we really want him and shift.
Always such a fluid moving thing, and there is clearly interest in acquiring him. Still think it will be end of this week something happens one way or another. |

OK...(frank) me!!!
I am just reading last few pages and some numbnut is suggesting to trade Rielly??? After all these years and just as he is becoming one of the more dominating offensive players in the NHL and it's time to move him? WTF!!!!!!!!
I think it's time to trade Marner, guy will never be physically strong enough to be durable. Probably a good idea to move Matthews too - guy is injury prone.

Backstrom, Landeskog, Lindholm, Pettersson, Forsberg, W. Karlsson, Arvidsson, Rakell, Zibanejad...
You sure about that? Like Canada, Sweden has a lot of centers that could move to the wing. Wouldn't be "easy" at all. |

If it gets you the best player at his position, in his prime, yeah, it is the better move. And what a lot of you are conveniently missing is the 2nd half of the deal which is to replace Rielly by moving Nylander for a LHD like Lindholm or Fowler or somebody like that. |

A) Lou Lamoriello is gone
B) It's November
But you're right, he's probably feeling pretty good right now. |

Any trade involving a 24yr old D man becoming elite should never have to hinge on a 2nd trade to make it look good.... |

Here is a crazy thought....if Doughty wanted to go to Toronto he would have just done so as a UFA.....the guy just resigned so why would he want to leave exactly?
