Muzzin could be had at the deadline...if he isn’t traded before that.
Good top 4 D at 4 million...it’d be nice if the leafs made a mcdonagh like trade like that - Santo_44
Leafs need to be all in this year
After this year, they wont have cap space to do much |

I’m assuming most of you are in the don’t trade Nylander camp.
I read an article in the Athletic about how you either sign him or let him sit. Letting him sit for a whole year is tough, but I think I have to agree - RickJames77
I'd trade him for the right deal. I doubt sitting a year is going to change his mind on demanding more money so he can't be traded as easily. That seemed to be being reported as his big concern. End of the day we get a solid offer I would take it and move on.
Can't hold up a whole team for one guy, if that one guy moving does make the team as a whole stronger.
Kipper was out of his mind with Montour + Ritchie for Nylander, we would need to add am guessing but wouldn't mind that, or even Colby's St. Louis deal. Kap has filled in very well for Nylander already and I like what he is bringing to the team.
You do all you can to sign him, and don't trade him for anything less than a solid hockey trade that makes us better though. |

That's where I stand.
Priority #1 is always sign him. If you can't, and you don't get a really good trade offer, let the guy with the retarded father sit the year. |

Fack the athletic and fack nylander.
You cant let the asset sit. - Fakepartofme
Personally, I underrated Nylander and if I were a Leaf fan would want to hold onto him. |

if he wont sign you have to let him sit
trading him for the complete (frank)ing horsepoop that everyone is proposing is dumb. i'd rather ruin his career and never trade him than lose him for peanuts. mostly cause im a Richard but still. |

Lol
Those fn idiots. - Fakepartofme
I got told off for saying that was a bad move, though he has been ok, one of the few providing LA with any offence BUT... |

Maybe.
I wouldn’t get ahead of myself I really have no idea what the contracts will look like. No one does.
Either way...4 million for two playoffs is a good deal for any team in a cap era. |

I just wonder how the leafs leverage has deteriorated over the last month and a half. Just a guess on my part. I obviously have no idea, but as a GM i’d Imagine I would try and lowball at the moment.

The bolded is what I worry about if they sit him. Is it actually going to make a difference? He's probably going to be even more entrenched on his position at that point since it's cost him an entire year of playing time and salary. Then you've got to sign him, who's even more entrenched cause he wants it to have been worth sitting out, and you've also gotta sign the other two.

10 minutes for LA to get a shot.

I wouldn't get lost in that. Washington assembled a fantastic team and spent years tweaking it, and finally won. The Leafs are younger, and have several good pieces. I don't think this is the year. But they need to see some actual playoff success this year. |

Yeah and his dad and agent are notoriously difficult so you add all that up?! I dunno...
I don't think the leafs are in a bad position at all though.
FACK.... You let Dion the Pylon score??!?!!
Damn guys stop giving them goals as a feel bad! |
