The CBA doesn't allow for NMC or NTC until a player is Unrestricted.

It also didn't allow for Nylander to file for arbitration, either Next year Nylander can file for arbitration. He probably wouldn't, though, because no arbitrator would come close to giving him the type of money he's asking for.

As Hunter suggested, I would have liked to get the 3 of them together to try and work out a signing deal between them - similar to the Hawks with Kane & Toews or the Oilers with RNH & Hall.

I have to imagine that the numbers between the three are so far apart that getting them in a room would be pretty insulting. Willie, we see you as a $6-$7m guy, and Auston you're an $11m guy.

Alternatively, it could have been suggested, and the players' agents weren't interested.

At this point, Hunter - while WAY more of an insider than any of us - was on the outside looking in as well.

At $6m he would net 60 years of normal peoples income in 1 year.
