He said 8.5-9% of the cap.
Not 8.5 millions per year. - Scabeh
Well holy fack, someone needs to learn how to properly read what other people post!

HoHo's and his hat have been suspended for awhile... I'm sure it can be replaced with a crusty hockey sock or or a pair of mouthguards and an elastic |

6.75 isn't good enough. He also has to get down on his knees and beg to be allowed to play hockey again. |

He can always go the Tom Wilson route and ask for an indepedant arbitrator to reduce his suspension.
(Yes, it's my subtle way to mention that him getting to come back right now is complete bullpoop). |

Nasty. My brother in laws uncle was like that. He once stole a TV from the Hells Angels and gave it to my brother in laws dad as his Christmas present. His dad got his ass kicked and his house ransacked for it...though the Hells Angels guys did apologize and make it clear that they didn't want to do it, they had to to keep up their reputation. |

I once got banned for a week for suggesting that Willy and Dubas could figure out a contract in bed. I'm going to stick to regular begging involving no microphones. |

I don't think the Leafs are offering Nylander numbers that are too far outside of expected parameters. I think the Nylander camp is the one that hasn't accepted reality.
I think all Leaf fans see his value as being in the 6.5 - 7 range. I think realistically, we all use Pastrnak as a realistic comparable. If you put in a 5% inflator, you end up at 6.99m. At 3% (average cap growth), it's $6.86m.
On a bridge deal, I'd hedge towards the Kucherov deal, which inflated would be around $5m / 3 years. You take the chance that he performs at a 100pt pace, and if he does, you pay the man his $10m.
From what I've heard rumoured, that seems to be where the Leafs are ranging as well, but seemingly closer to $6m and $4.5m on a bridge. Were I negotiating, I wouldn't move my price point closer until the other side showed signs of living in the real world. |

I'm convinced it's NOT about the money.
It's about the fact that Nylander wants to make sure he's not trading to a team that he does not want to play for - this is the only moment he has some actual leverage over that decision. |
