Cousins.... - Konalover
Cal Heeter
Honestly, after letting up 2 goals on the first 2 shots, he did play well. |

Maybe we can glue Neuvirth back together and swap him for some stick tape? |

LOL....they're in such a mess right now, I wouldn't be surprised if they called kicking the tires on Neuvy. |

This. I see him as a nice 13th forward who can play multiple positions and step in if a skill player gets injured - BiggE
Yes, this. He can slot in anywhere in the top 9 and the other lines can keep together, better for chemistry. Although with the right combo of linemates, Weal is probably a 3rd liner. The 3C experiment isn’t over yet, so we’ll see. So far, I liked him on wing better. Didn’t he play on Coots wing a few seasons ago?

Agree to disagree, I just see a lot of flashes of a great offensive player when I watch Weal. He seems like a guy who hasn't put it altogether at this level yet though. He also hasn't been given consistent line-mates or a chance at his natural position for an extended period of time either and that's why I think the Flyers should give him a long look with Simmonds and JVR. He may never put it all together but I'd like to see the Flyers hold on to him even if it ends up just being for depth purposes. - FreshFlyer
I tend to be with you on this. The whole team was playing terrible but Simmonds was invisible and Weise was too, I give Weal some credit, that line has been much better. I like Laughton a lot but I don't think he passes well enough to help Simmer. I hope with JVR back, it trigger some goals from the trio. |

Weal has over 100 games in the NHL and is 26 years old. I don't see his game changing much. |

when he has had an extended look it was usually with Flip and Simmer. |

It has looked like a fit problem to me. If Weal does fit best as say a RW on a line with a defensive center, where does that put him? The Flyers are deep at RW, short in defensive centers. |

why in the world would the Kings be kicking the tires on Neuvy? He wouldn't even make it off the plane before he injured himself again.
Trade them Pickard, Let Lyon back up Elliott and let Stolarz have the Hart's leftovers. |

Cause Hextall will try to unload Neuvy first I would think. If that fails then yes try to trade Pickard.
Also we have to think Carolina will be getting calls also. As they have Darling, Mrazek and McIllhaney. Also who has Lack is probably getting called also. |

I don't doubt Hextall would. Kings would be crazy to take Neuvy. |

I don't doubt that. I just see Neuvirth as pretty much untradeable. Some decision is going to have to be made. I don't see Hextall wanting to keep 3 goalies on the roster.

No one is taking Neuvy unless it's part of a bigger deal and Hextall takes a hit on the return to move him. Just think, your goalie goes down, you really want to replace him with one of the most injury prone players there is? |

So you see flashes of a great offensive player in Weal? - MJL
i see more than in him than you do but that is my opinion. I do think he has brought something to Simmers game that fits. I think while Weal gets knocked down he is on the puck quick and will battle for it. You never know with JVR they might bury a few. Simmer and JVR needs to get to the center of the ice, Weal needs to get it to them. I do agree he needs to go to the net or high danger areas more.
I guess I would be interested on what else is out there. My sense is there is not a lot of 3c's putting up big numbers, that lines 1&2 are doing most of the scoring.
I just scanned some of the rosters and the points fall off dramatically after the first 6 players
Bonino for the Preds has 6 points and is plus 4
Kadri has 11 but is -5
Bozak has 10 at -3
Weal 5 points and is even but has not played 3C the whole season.
I looked at Boston, it seemed after the top line there was much in the way of points.
I just breezed the stats, I would be interested to see who the comparables should be for Weal.
I do think with how the team is playing Weal should be given more time at 3c, unless there is an obvious upgrade. Ill be clear (I WOULD LIKE AN UPGRADE). I just don't think there is one right now.
looking at the Flyers we want a 3C upgrade. it appears the are plenty of teams in the same boat.
