How many injuries do they have? I didn't think the line up could look uglier then last game. I was wrong.

I’m no Kesler lover, but dude is playing his 14th year in the league and has been right around the 50 point mark in 9 of those years. I’d say that’s pretty consistent.
- 1970vintage

'Somewhat' consistent I would categorize it. you could make an argument that his 2016 season in ANA was pretty solid as well. So for me that puts him at 5 solid seasons out of 14 the others are just a mish mash of up/down performance/injuries. And to me the rest are kind of like Baertchi-style numbers not really a total model of consistency IMO but that's just me. But in his defense he plays a physical game and doesn't shy away from the tough areas of the ice so it will take it's overall toll on his consistency also IMO.

If a trade was possible to acquire the 1st overall I would do it. As a playoff team we don't have much of a chance to get him.
- thundachunk

Would have to be our 1st plus next year's 1st and a roster player at minimum.
Still say it'd be worth it tho

Wasn't Kesler traded 4 or 5 years ago?

Kesler says shut up.

New Jersey thread seems to be on the Taylor Hall is on the train heading out of NJ. I'd give a 1st in the next draft for Taylor Hall this year.

I would think it would be hard to prove that the damage was not done in Jr or midget hockey.

I see where you are coming from and it is a good offer but the draft being held in Vancouver and giving up the first?

Taylor Hall is a ppg again this season. Just think Hall playing with EP.

Exactly, so now imagine what a good player could do with EP.

Would you not give up this year’s 1st round pick for a proven commodity like Hall? At this very moment, I would do that in a heartbeat.

Probably not. Unless you think the Canucks will be pushing the playoff envelope in the next 3-4 years. Hall is 26, turning 27 this year, so he has only a few peak years left before he starts his decline.

7 points in his last 4 games. 4 in the previous 14

Maybe he starts to turn it around for good.

Use him for the playoffs and then trade him at the draft.

True again. But I’m hoping with the offensive playing style the Canucks are developing (thanks to youthful skill) top tier goal scorers see the Canucks as a legitimate destination.

I think that will shift over the next few years as the youth comes around. On the outside chance we win the lotto and get Jack Hughes, which winger wouldn’t want to play with one of him or EP?
