I'd do it, doubt Florida does. Ekblad is a young, big body, RHD, 1st overall pick, exceptional player status level player. They might move some players but really doubt they'd move any core young players like Ekblad.

I’d rather keep gardiner and nylander and keep drafting the best prospects leafs management can find and develop within. Concussed ekblad no thanks. Ekblad and trochek leading their team nowhere but once we get Matthews back and nylander we will be in the mix. Nylander will get better imho

What happened to Eric lindros

Right now would think it more 60/40 he gets traded. He's too scared of being like Turris signing and then being dealt at this point and he wants too much money to try and ensure that doesn't happen.

At this point I think Carolina, Anaheim, and St. Louis likely have the best pieces. LA I don't think has the right pieces really to be able to get involved there. And no way could LA even get a deal done with him without moving significant salary too.

Going to prove interesting by week's end I think.

Skjei has been brutal in the NHL and makes more $ than Reilly - pass on this deal. If Carolina has a boner for Nylander - let them pay Hamilton - a bit soft, has size and skill - can learn to play tougher.

Point is; if he want to stay during the rebuild, that's his call. He's been the teams best player for 10 f'n years and is probably the single biggest reason that the Rangers are worth more than the Leafs...!

What happened to Crosby?

Here's a news flash; not every player that has a concussion is done for life. Treatment has come a long way. And the biggest thing that did Lindros in was playing before he was ready and suffering multiple concussions in a short period of time. That hasn't happened with Ekblad. Any time he had a concussion, he took time off and recovered. He took a sucker punch from Domi and nothing happened to his head. You're comparing apples to oranges and doing it poorly too.

Make no mistake about it, if the Panthers were so stupid as to move Ekblad to the Leafs for Nylander, it would be in contention for the best trade in Leafs history and put the Leafs on a tremendously good path.

In any event not an equitable trade, but besides that he is paid more than he produces - unlike Reilly who makes $5 million a year.

Players I would like Leafs to consider in a deal (not per se 1-for-1) for Nylander:

- Keller
- Aho
- Hischier
- Couturier
- Barzal (a big ++ needed from Toronto side)
- Patrick

- Provorov
- Seth Jones
- McAvoy

Unless it's one of those players coming back to Toronto, don't see how it can be a good deal for Leafs. (Only possible exception to that: something along lines of Manson + Rackell for Nylander).
