He's been in the NHL for how long now? That doesn't happen if you're not any good at pro hockey. - MJL
Agreed all respect for Manning and I was not a fan of his over usage in Philly. That has nothing to do with him being a professional hockey player |

Toews is not the guy he used to be but he's still a very good player.
That said his contract is absurd and they won't be moving him any time soon - hereticpride
Forgot about his contract, he better have a G resurgence or Chicago is well, umm ...
G proved it was injury related

I had this crazy idea last night that the Blackhawks might launch their rebuild and maybe if the Flyers were in great playoff position Hak and Hexy might conceivably convince Toews to waive his NTC and fill our gap at center. CRAZY I know.
I liked the idea of trying Weal out at center, but honestly I think I liked him better at wing.

If they blew it up I'd have real interest in Kane. Toews I just don't see living up to that contract. It's a lot of money and a lot of years and he just doesn't produce the way he used to. |

So the Sixers, with a first time GM and in his first season, are able to make a HUGE trade, getting Jimmy Butler (4 time All Star) for a few 2nd tier players.
Crazy huh?
Trading away assets to get assets that can better serve the team's needs.
Are you paying attention Ron?!?! |

It’s sad to think how little time our respective super stars really have left as such. |

I was certainly a big critic of his for that season two years ago and the consistent decline but he has turned his game around. I think it starts with health. I would bet he would agree that he could have been taking care of himself better than he was. It’s part of maturing I guess. The maturation, the position change certainly has seemed to help. Hes turned his game around and into something I didn’t think was possible. I’m extremely happy to eat the crow |

If the Hawks are willing to eat at least 3.5 million of his cap sure. At full price? No thanks |

You do know that no one here, absolutely no one, feels the least bit sorry for you. Your team won what? 3 Cups in the last decade? Seriously amigo, stop whining. |

Since I am throwing crazy out tonight...here is one I cannot get out of my head. Admittedly it would never happen, but it just keeps buzzing around anyway. Lindblom to Center. First, he has never on record played center. Second, he and Patrick have great chemistry.
Just laugh. |

Oh that’s not a sympathy ploy. Sports are just one of the things that makes me see time in perspective. Honestly more just crazy that the time goes so fast.
I’m not even a flyers guy but imagining a flyers game without him is weird. These guys are over thirty already. Players coming in are gonna have birthdays in the 2000s. That just doesn’t seem real to me. |

No interest unless CHI is eating some of his salary and also taking AMac back. Taking Toews would be a favor for CHI with that contract. |

Oh yeah he’s killing it. Moving to wing is probably really helping long term. But my point is, thirty plus is still thirty plus and it’s crazy to think it’s much closer to the end than the beginning. Even your guys series against the blackhawks doesn’t feel that long ago, but then when you actually think about it, it’s going on ten years. |

I suppose. On the one hand, time flies. On the other hand, I think of everything that has happened in my life since and it feels like a lifetime ago.

LOL, when I went to my first Flyers game no one wore helmets and guys like Stan Mikita, Jacques Plante, and Gordie Howe were still playing in the NHL. How do you think I feel? |
