Antti Niemi is starting against Vegas tomorrow.

As long as the net isn't empty, Patch won't score.

He's not dead, you don't have to bullpoop like that
- Pat1993

What? His line was the best overall in that series. Kadri was gone serving a suspension and the Bruins shut Matthews down. No way they would have made it 7 with Dominic Moore stepping up the lineup.

Agreed.

Plekanec did great vs the Bruins last playoffs.

Was probably the most effective centre vs the Bergeron line.

I would have supported the whole team wearing turtlenecks if they never have to play a game 7 in Boston again.

They should have gave him a silver turtleneck instead of a silver stick.

And (frank) Boston!

Luckily Smillie is not Saadallah or Karine would've heard about it in the comments.

Price's save % is on par with that of an empty net

Yeah... Isn't there a way to combine them both in the same thread instead? Too complicated I guess

If he wanted to bring the turtleneck to Toronto on a 1 year deal I bet most fans would have been happy to have him.

Really? And considering how horrible the habs' defensive play has been, I'm still not quite getting this "hockey decision" that Bergevin just took. He probably wouldn't have played every night, but on a regular basis, yes

This may have been the plan all along. Resign, get 1000th game and go?
- Snots33_77

Really solid career, made close to $50M along the way, and gets to go out as a Hab. Likely not the way he wanted it to end, but not a terrible way either.

Pleks will be missed. Classy player, classy person.

Context is important in this. It would probably be 10 minutes a night, but he would be an upgrade in that role.

Maybe Pleks did not want to be a "sometimes player", either.

I can't say for sure but I think because he agreed (pretty much retiring) and hes over 35, the contract comes off the cap
