Not a single person on here insisted Provy can't win a Norris. And saying it's going to be tough for him to win one without consistent PP1 time isn't ignorant, it's a fact. With the trend of scoring in today's NHL going up, unless there's a change in the voting, no defenseman is going to win the Norris without putting up at the very least 65 points. - ajw12
Thank you! We would love for him to win the Norris but the stated points above will make it very difficult. Why can't you comprehend that?

No it isn’t fact! The requirements of winning the Norris apparently has changed in the last 10 years. A quality defenseman like Nick Lindstrom Was winning the Norris for all the right reasons 10 years ago, every year. Fast forward to today, the best offensive defenseman is winning it every year.
If what you just said is fact, pull up the link that clearly states what it takes to be, Noris trophy candidate.
Complete joke. Last I checked they were trying to get blind side hits out of the game and that's their response to one of the most malicious example of the season. - Baxter27
As much as I hate the guy, it was dirty but I somewhat feel it was justified. That kid was running around all game and laid a sh!t hit on Russell. Game at the most in my opinion, obviously league felt otherwise. He did pull up quite a bit, clearly just wanted to send a message.

BECAUSE THINGS CHANGE!!!
Why cant you comprehend this? The league has a salary cap. Expansion draft. Injuries. Players lose talent as they get older. Young players develop into better players. Players get traded.

My god! - SuperSchennBros
Because the league is calling more penalties and made goalie equipment smaller to reduce scoring.... Right.

I didnt see what lead to the need for retaliation but stalking a player like that, throwing a blind side hit with a follow up punch on the ground is a slippery slope to Bertuziville.

I agree, but i do felt he let up a lot on the hit. He also gave the kid a good tap and followed him around. Joseph knew he wanted a piece of him, he kept skating and hoped it would go away, from my perspective.

It was a hit put on Russell in the corner, actually Russell turned into the hit to make it look worse, which caused him to kiss the glass to draw a penalty. Standard hit you see every game.

The hit itself wasn't awful in terms of hitting. Yes it was unexpected and yes it was blind-side but it wasn't violent. It was the hunting him down that I have a problem with.

Judge for yourself
From that caused this

The hit on Russel was nothing - he embellished by laying on the ice.

I would have no issue if they had given him a game. I just felt that Joseph knew he was after him and tried to pretend he wasn't. Lucic is an idiot always has been. Look at the top 10 hits on Lucic at Youtube, every time he gets up and scums the other guy or tries to fight.

Whether he did or didn't is irrelevant. He was being hunted. Lucic should've been suspended.

In general, since the days of Bobby Orr, the award has gone to the best offensive Dman. This is why a guy like Paul Coffey who was routinely benched late in games when his team was leading, won the award over a much better all around Dman like Mark Howe. The only exception I can think of was when Rod Langway won it in the mid 80s
It may not go to the highest scoring Dman, but it’s very rare when it doesn’t go to someone in the top 5-6.
Honestly, I don’t give a (frank) what trophies individual players win, I just want the Flyers to win the Stanley Cup

Whether Joseph knows Lucic is coming or not is beyond the point. Once you take away the choice of the player to fight or not then it has gone over the line. If the player wants to call them a kitty cat then fine, but Joseph had no choice in that fight. If that is acceptable then the league might as well pardon McSorley and Bertuzzi for their actions.
On a side note, I was watching live and thought Nurse was going to throw. Of course I read all the YT comments about Nurse would of destroyed Killorn. I watched all his fights and yes he is big, but damn he kind of fights like a big Semin. Lots of shoulder slaps and gets outmuscled too.

But but each individual takes the trophy home for a day when they win the cup...
