You're comparing 3 more years at $3.8 to 4 more years at $7.5

The implications are drastically different. I don't necessarily disagree with you fwiw. But the early returns have yielded a positive impact on the team

- jcragcrumple

The team is better bc of Goaltending, Skinner & Dahlin
Not bc of the so called “depth” we replaced ROR with

True

I think he brings intangibles.

Toughness
Likeability among teammates
Not fun to play against
A little offensive upside
Veteran leadership (A)

About 2 million worth, not 5 plus

- Boss34

Being the coke guy probably also endears him to his teammates.

I like all that stuff too, but if you can find someone to replace his minutes and get rid of him you do it every time.

I NEVER ONCE said that Lehner was “above average”

I don’t like Lehner
Never did
I did say his stats placed him as a low end starter, or at least a good backup

But if u wanna up our bet...
I’m game

If Lehner is still in the league next year,
you disappear from Hockeybuzz
If he’s gone, then i will be too

Whatcha say there Hank?

Whoa, slowdown there cowboy.

I was attacked rather aggressively by several, including you when I mentioned a POTENTIAL coke issue with Reinhart as one possible causation for his Jeckle-Hyde impersonation last season, and why I only wanted a bridge deal for him...
Yet, here we are with you stating plain as day that Bogo has a factual coke problem and distributes to his teammates.

I believe the quotes at the time, not necesairily from you where...unless there is pictures it is dumb and reckless to accuse withoutthe proof being public.

Btw, I was right with the bridge deal for Rhino when most except Boss34 were screaming for Botts to lock him up long term for $6m+ per.

Supposition

But even IF O’Reilly had asked to be traded...
we should not have brought back TWO players that are SLOW & AVERAGE

We’d be better off with the Cap space

- jdfitz77

Berglund and Sobodka can be turned in to additional assets at the deadline.

send casey to rochester

play berglund and the dirty pod racer as your second and 3rd line centers and trade one around the all star break

I'd give him another five games to demonstrate that his last few games are where he's really heading, and forget about the two StLouis stiffs.

I’m mixed... I think some time in Rochester would bring some confidence back to his game. The kid has a fantastic shot, but he needs to use it more! But I also think he is starting to settle in a little bit. Imho he should have spent some time in Rochester from the start.

He & Jack both denied it
Even after ROR moved on
They had no reason to do so after the trade
Both are locked up to long term deals

Maybe we’d still be using him wrong here
But I’d still take him over the “parts” we got,
any day of the week

Even if we just got Thompson & the picks,
that would’ve been a better trade

Go ahead & make a lineup for next year,
and show me exactly where u want Berglund & Sobatka in it

I’d rather have Asplund & Nylander up
And use that Cap space to go after someone like Stone, etc

- jdfitz77

I think the overall hypocrisy by you sometimes is amazing.

You spent all year making sure you tempered expectations on Mittelstadt, but want a guy who’s never played pro hockey to take Berglund’s spot, who’s a bonafide top 9 NHL’er. But also Thompson and his 50 career games is a bust.

You are so sure O’Reilly won’t decline anytime soon, but are already convinced Berglund has declined because of 4 bad games to start.

Rasmus Asplund has 1 assist in 12 Rochester games, but sure throw him in an NHL top 9

I think he's working hard to be defensively responsible and although we need more scoring right now, for proper development I'd rather see a good defensive effort from a young C over a hat trick and still being a minus-3 at the end of the game. The offense will come.
