It's quite telling when other teams flat out drool knowing there is always going to be a pairing to exploit on the Pens with JJ out there. How management cannot "put their big boy pants on" and just sit/demote/waive/etc him is unfathomable. I for one would be interested in seeing what a CR/JR pairing would look like as a 3rd pairing.

This is what I never get. I sometimes think its a pride and stubbornness thing with the GM's and coaches.

I think each situation is unique. In most cases I'm sure they want to give things some time. Fans don't live in that world and we don't work with these players everyday. We don't get to know them as human beings. In this specific case, the GM went WAY out on a very thin limb proclaiming JJ is a good player and Cbus just mishandled him. If you start yanking him less than two months into a 5 year contract, you're going to look like an idiot. Remember this however... Sullivan eventually scratched Reaves and Hunwick. He'll eventually be forced to do it and has shown willingness to do it in the past. To be honest, I'm concerned over multiple players on this roster.....JJ isn't the only one who stinks right now.

Agreed, JJ is far from the only one rotting on the vine here...I'd like to see ZAR in the mix in lieu of Cullen for a spell as well.

The ironic thing is this...do you look like a bigger idiot continuing to play a player (JJ) who the entire hockey world knows is awful to save face, or would you be better off waiving him and opening a roster spot and possibly saving a little off of his salary (? not sure if that's entirely accurate)?
