Well that makes sense since they are killing Sprongs development.

I would do Sprong and a 3rd for AA

Edit PIT doesn't have a 3rd.

Sprong and a 2nd for AA and a 5th

That's about as much as I'd give. As much as I like him, and maybe it's just his speed that I'm paying attention to, I'm not giving a 2nd+ for him.

There's always a 2020 3rd

No can do. I need 2019 picks. Yzerman needs as many picks as I can get him.

So what would you do?

Not sure. That’s why I asked the board. I don’t think Brass is a good fit but he’s on an expiring contract after a meh year so alone I don’t see him bringing in a better 3c.

I don’t see a d man that’d offset the loss of Brass as a 3c based on what we’d replace him with.

My suggestion about being open to exploring options for Jake was not for the purpose of picks/prospects. Let's put it this way, unless he has an abysmal season, I have to think he's going to cost the Pens in the $5M to $6M range.

Again, I'm not saying "Trade Jake!" I'm saying I'm not against looking at teams who also have pending RFAs or even younger UFAs that they may not be able to keep. Let's say there's a player who will cost $7M that is consistent and proven and that puts him out of his respective team's budget.

Maybe the Pens make a swap if he's a good fit and find a way to shed some salary to get said player.

But we already know Jake’s a good fit and his playoffs are ridiculous. I just don’t even understand exploring the possibility at all. I see absolutely no reason to try and move Guentzel. Personally I think he should be on the untouchable list with Sid, Geno, Phil, and Letang.

Completely agree, the positive side of him playing 'soso currently is that his new cap will be hopefully more moderate than we all feared seeing him playing in the playoffs. Pure numbers aside, this guy has also a handsome personality and matches perfectly with Pens.

Regarding AA: That question was basicially answered when we traded for Sheahan, who is already our 3C... we thought we he had way more when we got Brassard also, but that till today doesn't seem to be the case.

OMG I was at that game. We sucked. Might be my fault cause it's the first time I've ever been to a game and not wore a jersey.

Pretty terrible all around experience though. Beer was warm in the arena. We got some $14 burgers that were so burnt they were not edible. Had several people come up offering to sell drugs in a demanding way right by the arena. There's really no where to pregame because everything is so packed. Yuck!!! Time to hit some away games.

I am also in agreement with holding onto Guentzel. Really the only young player that Rutherford should even consider trading is Sprong. It is obvious that Sullivan isn't happy with something about him and has given up on the kid.
