Is ZAR, Haggerty or whomever else really going to make a major difference? I mean, it's entirely possible, but I think they need to find the higher-end 4th liners. Maybe one or two.

Like you said, maybe not better, they could move the effort needle a bit though. Nothing internal is gonna make a major difference or they’d have done it.

I don’t see anybody they’d be willing to part with that’d bring back a game changer either.

Just thinking whether that's would be good or bad for him?

I'd like to see DeSmith given more games though.

I don't know where you are going with this. On the one hand you say this team isn't good and on the other hand you say they only one or two players from the Cup.

I think you're extrapolating something else because I didn't say that. I'm not claiming to know the problem or how to solve it.

I'm simply suggesting that MAYBE they need a little bit of a shake up to wake everyone up and inject some drive/life back into this lineup.

I'm also saying I think getting one or two higher level 4th line players is likely better than just rotating what we have in WBS.

Murray is just crap...he isn't the reason the pens lose often but he is NEVER the reason they win. That fourth goal is sooooo bad considering he is supposed to be a positional goalie.

Indeed, tonight Jacob de la Rose scored more goals then our whole "powerhouse" team.

So true - Tanger maybe, but not MM or any forward.

Not for a LONG time...hardly ever last year and not this year. He wasn't the sole reason in net this team won cups either...

Despite giving up five goals in that game, I'm gonna say he's probably the reason the Pens stayed in that game against EDM. The Oilers were running wild on the Pens.

I'd also say he's the reason why the Pens were able to do dominate CGY. That first period in CGY was a poop show before they pulled themselves together.

While he may not always be the reason they win, I'm going to go out on limb and say he's the reasons they stay in games as long as they do sometimes even if they don't wind up winning.

First and foremost, we need Brassard back as the 3C.....and he needs to stay healthy. I don't think those young guys move the needle much, but at least they can skate better than the guys they're replacing. I'll say it again, we're pretty much the slower team in every game so far this season. The Penguins kind of started the "speed" craze and then proceeded to go in the opposite direction ever since.

Catastrophic this week in fantasy. Getting blasted by over 100 points. Those Flames players have dusted me badly.

Maybe, maybe not. I don't think trades are the answer. Also I think it is about time we quit trading away our first every year.

Brass coming back is an improvement but he’s not providing much other than moving the other two centres back where they belong. He has to be better.

If trades are not the answer...replacing the coach is....ahl players wont make the team better tomorrow.

I think trades are the answer however... if this team cannot outskate most teams...then they need to have players that can take the body at times...this team as constructed does neither.

You like to keep suggesting I said things that I didn't, ok lol.

I didn't say trade away their first... anywhere.

I think his game is perfect for winning scoring titles. And, maybe it's just his teammates and line mates as Boyd mentioned....but, he seems to out skate his line a lot and doesn't get as much support. Plus, I'm scared to death to see that rookie season injury again.

My perception is most likely scewed by a small sample size and the other players on that team.

- cranktheradio

Your perception is absolutely wrong.

He is literally the best player in the league.

If this team is no longer outskating or out working other teams, (which has been the case so far) I agree the coaching has to change their game plan.

I’d try a Sprong and Brass for AA. Switch up the 3c and add speed at the same time.
- Thorny87

Sounds good to me.
