Better about what dude? I wanted Rosen. I’m surprised he’s this bad.

He beat a 1-6 team QB’d by CJ Beathard.

- sbroads24

There’s no correlation between how any of the other rookie QBs are playing, and Allen making progress.

But go ahead & bash them to make u feel better about Allen playing poorly.
It’s not gonna make him any better though

PS.
Peyton Manning just did a video breakdown last week about how Rosen is progressing for a young QB
But I’m sure u know more than him, so.....

Matt Duchene would look really nice in a sabres uni come trade deadline if we are in the race for a wildcard..... that would solve our center position for the next 5+ years with Aspland and / or Malone coming....

Please point to where I said there was. I’ll wait.

Rosen has been bad. Period. He has more turnovers than TD’s. He has an awful Yards per attempt, even in yesterday’s game. He isn’t a good QB yet. Neither is Allen.

You, yet again are arguing a point I’m not even making

Ben Bishop shared his thoughts on the current state of goalie analytics. Some interesting points made in this article, and surprisingly, it's from ESPN.

http://www.espn.com/nhl/s...n-bishop-goalie-analytics

- JetpackJesus

I’ve argued Bishop’s point with some on here

Analytics are extremely incomplete statistical analysis
Are they somewhat useful?
Yeah, sure
But only when combined with actually watching the game
And only when used in certain context

For example:
Points per 60 minutes
If u use that stat to compare the entire lineup (yes, some here routinely do that),
then u end with stats that make it look like Sobatka & Eichel are on the same level
That clearly isn’t the case
The stat is more useful if u were to compare 2 players with similar icetime,
like say Sobatka & Berglund
But even then, it’s still very incomplete
Berglund is being used in a heavily defensive role right now, with Larsson & Girgensons
Where Sobatka has much better wingers in Sheary & Sam, and in much more of an offensive role
None of that is taken into account in the
Pts/60 stat
It’s why i often call it one of the dumbest stats out there
Unless u really believe that Sobatka=Eichel
Hahahaha

Dude you don’t understand analytics and never have because you are too stubborn.

You take every stat posted as some blanket ranking system.

I’ve argued them with many people and have literally never seen anyone misunderstand them like you do. It’s insane

The point I’m making is that it’s completely useless to bring up
Bc any comparison to Allen actually has zero effect on whether Allen will (or is) getting better

And yes, u did compare them
U said something roughly like,
Allen isn’t playing well but neither are the other guys

The only reason to compare them at all is to give yourself false comfort in the fact that Allen looks bad

All that should matter is how Allen is playing
Not how u wanna talk sh!t about the others
Their play doesn’t matter when it comes to Allen becoming a Franchise QB or not

But again...
bash them all u like if it makes u feel better

I understand then just fine
You’ve compared ROR’s pts/60 to Armia’s
I think it’s you who doesn’t understand

There’s been pts/60 listings (not by you) this year of the Sabres
They aren’t grouped accordingly
They’re just laid out al together so u can see (at the time) that Jack & Sobatka has similar numbers
Well that’s a misinformed way to present that stat bc it makes them look like they’re producing on the same level,
when nothing could be further from the truth

And then u went on to use it a a basis to compare Allen’s poor play

FACT

Do i need to go dig it up
You know what u said when i questioned why u brought it up

Only reason to do so,
is to try n make yourself feel better

It’s not like u genuinely care how Rosen is or isn’t performing

So mansplain it to me then genius

How does comparing Armia’s & RORs pts/60 matter?

Seems to me that it would be a lot more accurate to compare Armia to someone like Girgensons

But you’ll just throw any stat out there that’ll support the player of the week you’re bashing

I just told you they aren’t a general ranking system. No single statistic is.

What points per 60 show is how a player performs relative to ice time. Because not all players play equal ice time, therefore not all players have the same opportunity to score as many points

Josh Allen is the worst quarterback I've ever seen play, thinking he's better than Rosen is absolutely ludicrous. Ya'll need to stop making excuses for the kid and hope the Bills draft another QB. ...

For me, them being comparable speaks to his offensive production at even strength/5v5

There areas of the game where ROR is far better, there's no doubt. But, when you make 7.5 million, you have to create more offense at ES/5v5 than the average 3rd liner.

And to your other point about eichel/sobotka....its not. Actual top line players wont have there primary points per 60 look identical to fourth liners because they're actually making the most of their usage.

If they were close, we'd have a huge (frank)ing problem,..... kinda like last year when our 7.5 million dollar centre was producing like a third liner....

You're correct that one stat is an incomplete evaluation. But its still an important stat and if one of your top paid players is coming up short, it warrants further investigation into the players overall performance.

Were we not supposed to be doomed without Evander Kane and Ryan O'Reilly? whatever happened to that? Did it get cancelled?

Yeah...
but as I’ve pointed out with the Sobatka vs Eichel instance

It’s only appropriate to compare this stat to players that are getting roughly the same icetime

Listing Eichel (or RORs) pts/60 next to Sobatka (or Armia’s) doesn’t hold up

Comparing Sobatka to Armia...
that would make sense
Not comparing guys with drastically different icetimes
