This will have no effect whatsoever.

Flyers will now go on a winning streak and shoot up in the ranking and now being considered a Cup favorite. After all the time this board has spent saying that Goulbourne was a dumb pick and is not an NHL player, he is now the savior of the season.

I fully expect NAK to see ~7 min 5v5, then get scratched for "not making an impact", then get sent down for Misha, who will be scratched.

Meanwhile, Goulbourne, the "energy" and "heart" guy...oh we'll see plenty of him.

The upside at least is they did call up some speed. That is something, and I'm very serious about that.

They will love Goul. Low amount skill and a Neanderthal game. Hak is salivating.

It’s funny that on a “rebuilding” club, there are esentially no new kids added to the team after last season.

Unless you count Voro’s 8minutes of playing time.

Burn mother (frank)er burn.

- flyer_nutter

I love you nutter but a part of the struggle is there are a ton of young 2nd year guys and Provy in key roles for this team and they are struggling right now. Hard to watch. Mistakes compounded and they look terrible. But there are a lot of young guys on the team. Sounds like NAK is getting a shot now.

NP looks lost, at least defensively. Provy is struggling. Hagg has moments were he looks awful. Sanheim who has been a bright spot this season has had some big gaffs leading to goals. Lindblom, etc. it’s growing pains and they are going to get better.

No excuse for Vorochek, Simmonds. Amac is off to a rough start. Couts has been ineffective.

So when your core of vets are playing bad and the young (2nd and 3rd yr) players struggle its going to be ugly.

That jaguar team is abysmal. Eagles will be lucky to hit 8-8. Could you imagine going to London to watch that crap?
- Just5

At least they got a win. Imigine being a Flyers season ticket holder the last few years.

Kids have to earn their spot and outplay someone. Funny how Vorobyev played really well in training camp and the pre-season and was given a chance. Doesn't matter, the Flyers don't play young players.

Tough to be ready when you are played two shifts in a period. Called out by your coach and spanked for any mistake.

This is the Flyers version of development? Basically the same club from last season with maybe Goul playing? If that’s how little your youth truly is progressing get the (frank) out of town.

Teams around the league are playing their kids and living with the mistakes.

The Flyers under Hakstol have been extremely successful in developing young players.

Yup Vorobyev showed no fire....4 horrible shifts....then he didn’t smile on the bench.
- landros 2

Look it might not be a popular decision but Hakstol would know best about Misha's ability. The guy spends everyday at practice with these guys. Hakstol has always been the kind of coach that utilizes the players that will help win games.

Agreed, the lack of production from our Young players is part of the problem. If Giroux and Voracek arent scoring, its pretty safe to say no one is.

Vorobyev has a strong training camp but it is clear he is not ready for a 3rd line center role in the NHL. Maybe he cold play a 4th line role, but they're not going to take Lehtera out of the lineup now. They're doing the best thing for him to get some playing time.

We all know the Flyers are lacking in talent, but Hakstol has lost the team. They're not responding to him and his coaches. The coaches need to go. Who are possible replacements???

It also had to do with Folin played a number of games with Gostisbehere. It was more about getting Gostisbehere out than Folin. Everyone knows that the Flyers defense pairings are not ideal.

I think they wanted to see how he would respond after sitting out a few games and getting back in. The kid is just not ready. I still believe he is going to be a good player. I also think that the team environment right now, with the lack of a team game and team structure is awfully difficult for a young player to break in with. Hard enough for a young player to break into the NHL.

No, he just get used more because they want right handed guys on the right side. It is not complicated. Just because you think its stupid, doesnt make it any less true.
