If the defense is an issue, you could go with...
PP 1
Giroux
Gostisbehere
Weal
Lindblom
Patrick
PP2
Voracek
Provorov
Sanheim
Couturier

Not much of a choice if guys keep getting injured. Also Leier is what, a 5th year pro? Not exactly a rookie at this point. I suppose you could bring up a guy who really isn’t a prospect like Bardreau or Goulbourne if Knight is out, but they are likely gonna bring up someone. I doubt they head out west with only 12 healthy forwards. - BiggE
I’m guilt of responding before reading thoroughly. After I reread your post I realized I misunderstood. Thought you were calling for bringing up a bunch of kids. I tried to delete it before anyone responded. Not fast enough |

I think Weal, Sanheim and Provorov can all handle zone entries, but you can flip with Weal with Voracek if it isn’t working out. The problem with 1 D on the 2nd unit is that, especially in the 2nd period with the long change, you can get stuck with a forward playing D once the penalty expires. - BiggE
Those 3 haven’t had good success on the zone entries for the PP so far. Also 2nd unit passing is weak and the top unit has Giroux and Ghost who can mentor the kids and hopefully get a spark at the same time.

Honestly I just don’t see anyone in the organization that they can bring in that’s really going to make much of difference. Seems like they need a real jolt like firing the coach or making a big trade. My feeling is that Hextall will do nothing. |

I’m good either way. In all honesty, zone entries on the 2nd pp unit is way down the list of my concerns for this team. At this point, I just want to see 18 players, all on the same page, and all playing hard and smart each and every shift.

If they go any worse than 2-1-1 on this trip and Hak is still the head coach and/or a trade hasn’t been made, then Hextall should fire himself. |

They will go worse than 2-1-1 and nothing will happen. Then Hextall will give himself a raise lol. |

On paper, they should be so much better. I feel like the lack of scoring is leading to lots of other problems. This team needs a strength to get going, and offense and the PP should be top 10. If that part gets to where it should be, working on the rest of the problems becomes more manageable.

Part of me wonders if Hexy would just step down and allow the next guy to make the changes that need to be made. Probably not likely, but possible. |

The only thing that would cheer me up is if someone hacked into the autocorrect in this forum and changed Flyers to Sh!t. But actually reads Sh!t. Not poop. That would help.
Even in our wins we still looked sloppy and had bad moments. We have a lot to clean up. It will be interesting to see where we go from here. |

Imagine being someone who defends this franchise at every turn and does nothing but make excuses for them. Delusional souls. Sad. |

I think we should prepare ourselves for the Kris Knoblauch era. Just reread some of the articles when he was hired and he seems to be future NHL head coach in waiting. |

If the Flyers lose the next four games or don’t win 5 of the next 9, we will be sunk and changes must be forthcoming. Patience can only be a virtue so long and then it become a crutch that prevents progression.

Wut? - VladDrag
The point is to send a message to the rest of the players. Things arent going to be better by simply moving a coach, moving a player ect. This is a mental problem. Lehtera is nowhere close to a top line center but no one on this team is stepping up. If the fourth line is our best line they might as well be our top line. Send a message to the under performing players by placing them on the 4th line. |

Why am I even going to the game on Thursday?
There is an hour's worth of traffic from where I live to Staples Center. There is a train now but that takes an hour too (of standing the whole way).

These guys have been here for years and every message has already been sent. Putting Lehtera out against top lines isn't going to help anything. |
