Therein lies the issue, but it certainly involves a first round pick. Call me crazy but if Duchene will sign a five year extension I'd trade a first and Patrick for him.

Sorry I've never been a huge Patrick fan and they have a couple good centres drafted already. Couturier is 26 in December, Duchene 28 in January. They're still young enough kids like Frost and O'Brien can continue to develop over the next three years.

Just a hypothetical but they can't continue to just sit on their hands. It's not the Flyer way. Ed Snider would be proud of me right now

Lol kid hasn’t even played a full NHL season yet. When a two way center top prospect lands in your lap via lottery you don’t ship him out.

What is it you think Kassian will bring to this team?

He might. I think I'd like that in a player that plays up in the lineup. Not sure how much swapping 4th liners with the Oilers helps and I think I'd keep the draft pick. They'd be lucky to get Dale Weisse in that trade.

I'm guessing they'd take futures and 2 mil off their cap for the next two seasons.

They didn't shoot from the slot in the Islanders, game, for sure. You can see for yourself that, for whatever reason, they aren't shooting from the "dirty areas" of the ice.

They aren't able to generate right now. The game is won and lost in the neutral zone and at the bluelines. The Flyers are losing that battle. All game long we saw the Flyers trying to slug the puck along the wall through several defenders. If you don't control those zones all your doing is trying to generate against 5 defenders and you can't generate off the rush. All that does is leave the points open.

The reason, or another reason to entertain this is NP’s play has not been good.

With Couts being not playing well they are getting outmatched badly at center up and down the line up.

No great solutions but shifting G to Center will get better match ups down the line.

I almost think there would have to be a coaching change before we see G back at center though.

Agreed on everything from top to bottom.
