Good lord I think we can slow our roll on passing judgement on a kid after 4 games. - MBFlyerfan
It goes both ways funnily enough. There are guys who think every half decent prospect is the 2nd coming of Clarke as soon as they're drafted by us.
I have no concerns about Farabee right now. |

At least next year Frostybust, Myerbust, Hartbust and Morinbust will join the party - BiggE
Poor Morin. Still not here yet and Pulock is on the first pairing for the Isles today. |

Bottom line for today. Isles will be hungry. Seems like they have a decent line up maybe a little light on d. We need Nuevy to make saves and bail us out. We need to get lead and roll from there.
Just seems like we wait for something to happen at start of games. We make mistakes and puck ends up in net. We chase game and mount comeback too late. Wash. Rinse. Repeat.
We need to get saves and bailed out from our stupid mistakes long enough for us to score. Not a sustainable season long game plan, but that's where we are at. |

and a first round exit. Honestly I 100% expect a playoff team and a team that does more than go out in the first round and anything less will be very disappointing. - nastyflyergirl
Yes, they played a better team and the eventual Cup champions in the first round. |

No AMAC today.
Man it is easy to look back but they really screwed up how they handle the injury and everything after... |

Basic stages of teams, I said basic.
- (WIN) Team wins convincingly, overall team play is great
- (WIN) Team wins with some mistakes or just better than other team that night
- (WIN) Team wins due to other teams poor play and mistakes
- (LOSE) Team loses, overall play is good just other team was better
- (LOSE) Team loses, no additional support to get win
- (LOSE) Whole team plays poorly, looks out of sync, fans question if the players even try
Right now the Flyers are just trying to get to stage 5, which has not been a rare occurrence over the years. All teams go through slumps, all teams do not look like this consistently game to game, period to period. - Glak18
I agree but part of that is that they are trying to get younger and inject younger players into the lineup and that changes roles of some players. That's part of what is going on with players like Couturier and Provorov. All the talk of Norris trophies and 8M a year contracts for Provorov. We can see that although he is very good and may have a physical issue, he's not in the class of the upper defenseman in the league yet.

We all know MacDaddy limitations but this is true. When he plays well the flyers play well. He's obviously still injured and it was probably a bad idea for him to rush back from injury (like simmer last year). Hopefully he gets back on track soon.
Also if I was Hak I would try giving Sanheim and Gudas more responsibility. The last 4 games Sanheim has been the best defenseman and Gudas has gone back to being the solid player he was the first two years here. Will help take some pressure off ghost and provy - bulet13
Well you're down 2-0 against Boston who is a tight structured defensive team the only real chance you have is for skill players to make some plays. Sanheim is one of those players.

You don't understand that the Flyers got knocked out in the first round because they played a much better team?

oy vey. what I am saying is making the playoffs and going out in the first round can't be acceptable at this point. this organization has to start moving forward |

I don't see how losing to better team is unacceptable. Do you think the Flyers are a contending team? That's luck of the draw. Now if they lose to a team that they are supposedly better than or equal to and don't play well, that's another story.
The point is that last season the Flyers improved by 10 points, finished 3rd in the metro and made the playoffs. Getting knocked out by the Cup champs doesn't diminish that improvement in my book. |

So we trade player playing badly due to rushing back too soon from injury for player who simply sucks. Oh joy |

I thought MacDonald looked better physically through the first period but then had a poor second period. What's a coach to do. MacDonald didn't exactly earn his spot in the lineup.

Agree. But there must be more moving parts regarding waivers if we bring Myers or even Friedman up. I thought Myers played well enough in camp and Folin played badly enough in his outings to necessitate the call up of Philipe.
And I'm free... free Folin...🎶 |

I’m not criticizing the coach, just wish the GM would give him another option. As much as AMac and Folin have struggled, I can’t imagine Myers could be any worse. |

ok let me try this again. This organization has to start to take steps to move forward. if the CURRENT team misses the playoffs THIS season I will view that as a major disappointment. the team can't be ok with a one and done moving forward |
