So down by 2 goals in the 3rd you think its a better stategy to win games to play a 3rd line C with little experience over your first and 2nd line guys? Coaches job is to win games, not coddle young players and play them for poops and giggles

First off, he played like 4 minutes in the first 2 periods. Why not play him more when it was tied or when it was a one goal game?

Secondly, when you shorten the bench, you don't shorten it to 2 lines. You typically shorten to 3 or thereabouts.

Thirdly, and most importantly, why is Weise getting more minutes in the 3-1 game than a more skilled Vorobyev? Why not put him in the mix with some of those top 6 guys who weren't doing jack poop anyway? This coach is out of touch. He's bad. Firing him is not the cure, but it will help the symptoms when Sanhiem isn't the least played defenseman, and when Laughton and Vorobyev aren't the least played forwards.

Been a Flyers fan since the late-70s. Never have I seen a team with less of an identity as this one. Starts from the top. Don’t get me wrong: youth is great. But for the love of God, Please infuse the roster with some grit and accountability.

I’ve been around a while. I’ve seen good coaches: Shero, Quinn, Keenan, Hitch and Lavi. And I’ve seen the bad: McCammon, Cashman and Simpson. Sadly, Hak is a lot closer to the latter group, than the former.

Can't fire an entire staff mid season. Hak will get the ax and hopefully Lappy as well. Would not be surprised to see Knoblach or Murphy named interim coach.

All I keep hearing is how Vorobyov should play because he’s young, not because he’s good. This game wasn’t tied very long, I wouldn’t wonder why Hakstol didn’t play him while it was tied.

Look you say dont have unreasonable expetactions but that is exactly what you have for Misha. You are down by two and your telling a guy who has 2 games under his belt to go and tie it up.

I haven't read the thread. I'm as frustrated as anyone with the team and I'm sure the comments are all about Hakstol. I still maintain that the issue is not coaching, it's on the players. There is no doubt in my mind about that. However, coaching is a results oriented business and I have doubts that this team will come out of it without some sore of major change being made. The simplest and most reasonable change to make is to make a coaching change. I don't think Hextall is going to do that right now but he should. The timing will never be good. If they wait until there is a gap in the schedule, it may be too late. This has become a mental issue for this team. They need some sort of reset. They're just too easy to play against.

There isn't an NHL coach alive who wouldn't play the veteran players more in a situation like that. Honestly, and this is why I'm against all the suggestions of calling up players, is that Vorobyev is in an impossible situation. It's hard enough as it is for a rookie to break into the NHL. Even more difficult on a team that is currently dysfunctional.
