Maybe we really should clean house for coaching. PK sucks, PP sucks, everything sucks. This is so damn frustrating |

Prov is angry this game. He's going to do something more, just wait for it. He's had enough. - flyer_nutter

I have not got on Hak for not changing but he needs to change PP1 ASAP, they are and have been playing the same way they did last season when the PP slumped.
Give me a break |

Dont care. Enough of this poop. They are being female dog slapped for far too long.

Lots of players invisible again when asked to step up.
Simmonds looks checked out again. Ugh. |

Pretty much..
Simmonds, Jake and Coots are a black hole right now. |

Agreed. We're not outplaying them. - Hextall271
Not even close. They had maybe 3 "extended" offensive zone shifts, with only 1 or 2 good chances. That includes 2 powerplays. Everything else was slopping passing, failing to get the puck deep, or a one and done rush. Brutal period. Pretty status quo at this point |

I understand but hextall has to do something too much talent on this team for this to happen I think the team has tuned out Hakstol I think he has to go. - Bobd62
Believe it or not there are still some a ss clowns around here that see growth with this team under the Hakstol tenure. |

Couturier's skating is that of Handzus in his last few years. He needs to not be out there as much as he is, or to be sat if he is hurt. He's young enough to still be valuable when they are pushing for a cup.
I want G back at 1C, for the time being anyway. |

What you're missing here is that if the Flyers don't improve, Hextall himself will be out of a job
False. If they don't improve this year, you are saying he loses his job. I say bull. Because of the fabled CAP SPACE he never had to play with.
And what exactly is the time span for them to improve?
1 year into cap heaven, 2 years, a big FA signing?
so if you think he'll be reluctant to fire Hakstol if he finds it neccessary just to save face. I think that's a poor read on your part. Hextall will not hesitate if he think s that is best for the team in my opinion.
You are clearly stating you KNOW he will/wont. Can you not see that? - DrMidnite
My comment of Hextall being out of a job was not limited to the scope of just this season. You're wrong again. I clearly labeled my statement that Hextall will not hesitate as an opinion. How can you not see that?

The best teams can still win games when their top players are shut down. For example when the Flyers play Boston in Boston and the Couturier line is going to see Bergeron and Chara all night long, chances are you're going to need some other lines contributing to win.
By the way, a lack of a veteran checking center is having an effect on the Couturier line in my opinion. - MJL
This is a great observation. Only one way to solve this problem. Split G and Coots. Get G back in middle. That simple. |

40 to go, but I will say this.
If they roll over for these last 40... If Hakstol remains, I start to question Hextall. |

It's really quite simple. The level of push back in the second period will tell us everything we need to know. Provorov threw a big hit that should rev up the team. If they don't come out and show some real urgency that carries through the rest of the game, then the writing is on the wall. I was thinking that the Hakstol has the next 5-10 games to get this straightened out but if they show no sign in the second, then waiting won't serve any purpose. If they don't come out firing then they're a dead team and there is only one thing to do. |

The struggles on the PP are easy to fix. Simplify! Start shooting the puck. Stop looking for the perfect back door play or cross ice pass. Move the puck, move the defense and shoot the dam puck! Throw pucks at the net, crash the net! Dirty but good. |

No effort ....just a team looking for a spark and besides a good open ice hit the leadership mailed in the first period.
