I do not understand the overconfidence of Sabres fans. They are one game over 500 and have beaten one team with a winning record. Start beating good teams no then talk. At least the Habs have beaten a decent team.

Didn't the Canadiens lose to LA?

That's almost an achievement at this juncture

You're knocking the Sabres for their wins, and one of the wins was against a team the Habs lost to

So did Buffalo beat a decent team, but not quite as decent as the Habs beat, or is it semantics? What are you doing here? There's like four leafs blogs you can pound your meat in. Go have fun bud.

Half of us are DOOM half of us are FLOWERS

Realistically, I said 35-35-12 this season and that's pretty much what they are.

Buffalo will be solid on the road all year and stink up KBC most nights. They will be maddening to watch.

We have beat 3 of the oldest teams in the league this season. LV, LA, ANA. All old, slowing down, past their hump teams. The other wins came against NYR, old and slow, old goalie past his prime, and Arizona, 'nuff said.

The wins feel nice, but when they beat teams like PGH, WSH or NSH handily, then I'll be happy.

I also said the Habs would make the playoffs this season dependent on Price and everyone laughed at me.

The Bills should trade for Carr like, NOW.

Gruden is there for 10 years, he isn't going anywhere, and he will have this and next year's draft to build his team for when they arrive in Las Vegas.

We missed on Mack, IDGAF what anyone says, we missed on Cooper but I wasn't giving a 1st for him...

If we can get Carr for a 1st rounder ++ then we should do it yesterday.

LOL Backup goalie and overachieving team looks like the overachieving team is your team there bud , maybe a little knowledge about these teams would help you know that they USUALLY play each other hard and the games are either real close or blowouts for either team so don't be so confident about should be a win , the overachieving team with the backup goalie may just surprise you

If they get dominated all game but win on a fluke goal while one of our goalies stands on his head, then it's nothing more than a moral victory... Because come playoffs, this team as it is now will get DECIMATED.

All I want to see is a back-and-forth game with even shot totals, offensive zone possession, and our main guys showing up on the stat sheet. Winning against those teams 4-3, give or take a goal, is what I want to see. I want them to keep up with the elite teams, not win because a puck deflected off Sam Reinhart 2 times.

I assume you're responding to my comment. I think based on preseason predictions, mtl is overachieving at 2 points out of 1st in the division, whereas the sabres are pretty much where most people had them (I.e., near or just below a wildcard spot)

And yes, Niemi is a backup goalie.

Not sure what's so inflammatory about what I said.

While the rest of the NFL regularly puts up mind-numbing passing numbers, the Bills are averaging a league-worst 129 passing yards per game.

Maybe keeping Tyrod wouldn't have been such a bad idea... Maybe the Browns will trade him back to us?

I'm actually half-serious.

Well, I don't expect them to demolish those teams 7-1 any time soon. Handily was the wrong choice of words, I suppose.

It is hard to have patience given the last number of years.
However, finally we can see they are headed in the right direction.
It will require patience and recognition that this team is not yet close to desired vision yet.
Time.
Time and patience.
But one can still enjoy the steps forward

When they start beating teams other than Arizona and the oldest teams in the league, I'll enjoy it more.

Kinda funny that if the Sabres lost both games to VGK, the knights would have a winning record and would have become one of the "quality wins" that we couldn't get.

There's a ton of parity in the league

Is there a rule that I don't know about where you have to beat teams Handily in order to win? I don't care if the winning goal is a NUT deflection, as long as they win I will be happy..

Well your team wasn't supposed to beat down the league either , just sick of other teams fans putting down a team or their players with so much parity nowadays , any team can beat any team on any given night and the team that ultimately wins the cup has to have a lot go well for them along with having good players , cant we all just realize that we love our hockey ALL OF HOCKEY and we should enjoy it because every team has good players and realize that ...
