Being a guy that specializes in Organizational Theory, watching ROR fascinated me. When he was traded here I started going to school for it, getting my MBA. Needless to say, watching his interviews and way he carried himself (in a VERY limited fashion) I was almost using the guy as a case study. Seemed very good at knowing WHAT to say, but not walk it.

Just seemed like ROR was always out for himself. If he came to Buffalo and it was different, he could have wiped Colorado off the history books. Instead he reinforced it. Wouldn’t have been so bad if he and his father hadn’t done everything in their power to craft up this false belief that he just needed an opportunity to be THE guy and lead a team.

They’re awesome at PR.

Nah...
O’Reilly took responsibility on a nightly basis for the failings of the ENTIRE TEAM
Idk why so many ppl see that as a negative?
The interviews that Lehner gave...
those were a negative

No, O’Reilly wasn’t good enough to overcome the lack of talent we’ve had
But i doubt any ONE player would be

We wouldn’t have made the playoffs last year if we had Crosby in his place

He took responsibility for the entire team...in front of cameras. The guy has orchestrated his way off two teams in his career. He plays well when the cameras are on with his aww shucks routine.

Based upon the way he left Colorado, the media campaign his father went on pushing the great leader false narrative and that he could be THE guy on a team, and then his speech last year in the exit interviews, I just see it differently.

In a post game interview, it’s his fault. In all other things, he’s a victim. His stats are always decent, but he’s not what he sells himself to be.

Third team now, same scenario happening again. Of course it’s not his fault.

It never is.

We see things differently, and that’s fine. My decision here is being made of a limited sample of what I see in the media, old articles from Colorado that I read, etc.

But there is at least one of these types of people every place you go.

I agree on Lehner, very negative and we saw why turns out later. But that doens’t change the same thing happening on two different teams for ROR. The Factor, is the common factor here.

The Blues can turn this around, though for the sake of draft pick, I hope they don’t.

That's what I want to see from him. He doesn't have to get 90 points every season but hoovering around a .ppg and creating goals without padding his stat sheet. Sometimes the best assist is when a player doesn't even touch the puck...
- BeadyEyedDouche

Led the team in hits too.

I want both points and effort. But some nights you aren’t going to get a point, so if your best players steps up on the physicality end, that’s solid.

He played well.

This team seems to be getting more fire and I love it.

skinner now has 10 points in 10 games and is one of the biggest reasons we turned this around the last 3 games

lock him up

Sign him to the exact same contract as ROR

I've fallen asleep the last 3 games I've tried to watch by the end of the first. I don't mind waking up to a W and watching highlights.

I watched an Okposo interview where I heard him saying they are bringing their lunch pal to work and just playing a boring style but their talent will shine through. I bet Housley just writes K.I.S.S on the board before every game.

Dahlin is better than Eichel

First round of long islands on me, what do you say fitz?

That line has produced 8 goals in 3 games. 1 was empty net padding, but still impressive.

How high would you go on Skinner?

High enough.

He's going to get that money. Either here or elsewhere.

Should have locked him up before the season.

In all seriousness, I don't think he is anywhere near the reason the Blues are in trouble. However, I do think it's a pretty clear by his stints in Colorado, Buffalo, and now St. Louis that what O'Reilly brings to the table is simply immensely overvalued.

He reminds me of Shane Doan, a guy who received a ton of accolades for doing "everything right" everywhere...except the win column.

it was a nice change of pace

in years past, that early goal would have ended the game

They definitely deserved to win that game last night, but even if they hadn't, as a fan that's the kind of hockey you enjoy watching.

McCabe was by far the best player on the ice last night. He was everywhere and laying it all on the line shift in and shift out.

On the opposite end of that, was Scandella. I'm not sure what the issue is with him right now, but he's looked pretty abysmal most of the season so far.

With McCabe, Scandella, Guhle and Pilut

Once of them has to go even if Dahlin played on the other side

I have a feeling the first trade of the season might involve Scandella

Agreed. And yes I was joking but there seems to be issues with the Blues, whether it is coaching, goaltending or vet leadership, who knows. They went big in the off season with trading for ROR and signing Bozak and Perron. Gotta think the coach is on the hot seat because they appear to have a nice roster. And poor Chad Johnson, a 4.04 and .857.

zero quit in this team. Nice to see. Plus the kids in Rochester doing well spells a good future in Sabreland. I believe the addition of Steve Smith behind the bench is helping big time, especially with the D. Botts has done a nice job.

The interesting part here is that Johnson had some pretty poopty things to say when he left here at the end of the season and he's doing terribly on a team that on paper doesn't look bad.

And the Blues lost Hutton who is said to be very good in the room and the team here looks much better than it did last year (for various reasons, one of with could be Hutton).

Just an interesting dynamic at the moment. Could be nothing, but I find it a bit compelling.

I think when Hutton signed here, some Blues fans said they wish they kept him. I want to see Ullmark get more starts.

Let's see how we play against the elites of the league. Wins uh-gainst the Leafs, B's, TB, Preds and Pitt will go a long way in determining if this team is playoff bound or not.
